Tricking Plant to think its dying. Lights off

so i heard turning the lights out when a female cannabis plant is in flower, itll produce lots of natural oils (resin) because it thinks its dying.

does this really work?????

im trying it right now with one of mine.
its been in flower for at least 6 weeks. and i took it out and kept it in a dark room 24/7 for 82 hours and just put it back into the flower room. its looking really good.

There are a couple of other threads on here about the same topic, with a little bit of searching I'm sure you can find out about it. I read them and there was some mixed reports. You should not have done this mid flower because it stresses the plant and could cause a herm...I hope this does not happen to you. Good luck growing

i most def. will.

well the strain im growing seems to be finishing a little earlier then most plants. its about week 8 now.
and has several orange hairs. it has at least 1/3 red hairs before i put it into darkness.
im thinkin about putting it back into light for about 5 days and then crop it.
ill put up pix here soon

an hour and 45min ago it was only 6weeks. What happened, do you have a Time machine. If you do PM me I would very much like to borrow said time machine.

i said at least 6 weeks before taking it out and turning off the lights. today is day 56.

i put it into darkness on day 52. the 17th. during the afternoon. sorry i was so vague by saying "at least 6 weeks"

although turning of the lights and generally stressing the plant can cause more resinous buds, it doesnt increase the overall yeild and can , from many reports, decrease it,
however , it rapidly increases the chances of hermy plants , so try it but be careful!

it was worth a try. curing until 420 so i was curious

it will produce more resin but your plants cant receive the light energy they need to grow so you are going to lose out on yield and growth.
