Topping the plants!

When are you supposed to top the plants?

you dont need to top your plants, if you top them two branches will grow out where you stopped one from growing but its not good to cut the leaves, unless you are looking for your plant to split

i top about 2 weeks b4 i flower.... but it can be done earlier than that... just depends on what you want to achive

So what are my options....

I dont have a set plan, just wanting to know where i should be headed ahead of time. Thanks

Here are my plants, i just topped them 4 days ago. They are in the 4th week veg from seed.

The plant in the first pic will have 5 tops, the second will have 4, and the third will have 4 tops as well. I tried FIMMING and it didnt work. I used the method where you just cut the top of the plant off at the second set of nodes from the top.

if you top it with lots of veg time the bottom branches catch up enabling you to have more colas that are the same height and closer to the light,

I have 3 plants (Grape Ape) that i got as clones. They are currently about 4in tall and have several nodes with preflowers and several lil branches coming from the main stem. its been one week since i got them and it looks like theyre doing great. When do you think i should top them?

I would give them another week or two, just my 2 cents

between the fourth and the fifth node

4th or 5th node counting from the bottom,right?

how much longer do you want to veg for?

Not for long, since this is my first time growing, i wanted to feel it out. Next time ill do the full length. I topped one plant a day or two ago and this is what it looks like followed by one that hasnt been topped. You can easily tell the diff....enjoy, comments welcom

Does anyone know why the tips of the leafs might be drying/burning. it is only the tips of the leafs....lmk

Dude I cant offer to much advice because I am only in my second grow and am suffering a lil through it. But I was reading your post and checking out the pics. Nice plant man you done a good job good luck the rest of the way.

Grape Ape is dank bud. Just picked some up last weekend. Nice soaring high, some body stone, but not too much. Sorry to hijack the thread, just wanted to let you know that Grape Ape is a good choice. )

u waited 2 long, mine are just fine

how tall are they? i would have waited till they were atleast 6 inches

Hey guys, sorry it took so long to reply, been busy. Plants look great and have grown nicely...





Thanks for all the comments guys but why do some people say wait longer on topping and others say that i waited too long???
