Breeder Boutique. I went with them on my first grow and all my plants from 4 different strains are top notch smoke, some are better than others but all and all they all are great smoke, and at the most reasonable prices I could find. Check out my journal and you can see for yourself. Most of the strains only come in regular, but I just planted a little over twice the amount I needed and still filled out my room after I sexxed the plants. They have a half off special going on and their freebies are as good arguably as their strains they sale. Results speak for them selves. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Greenthumb in Canada for sure. I've gotten some stellar genetics from them over the years but this Bubba OG I just finished is AMAZING!

Cannacopia & Chimera both have good gear, loads of reviews .. (ICmag vendors section)
Alternative seeds http://hempdepot.ca/seeds/Alternative/index.html short, but good genes ..
Jordan's Blue God always has good reviews..
KOS lots of good feedback
Medical seeds Y Griega http://hempdepot.ca/seeds/Alternative/index.html

If you want no BS genetics, you'll have to go though all the smoke&grow reports you can find, compile them, and see how stable the results are.

Female seeds C99, everyone knows its fire .. tried&tested

It is a 50/50 chance. I have gotten 3/10 with a pack and 7/10 with another. If you run 100 seeds you will end up close to 50/50 +/- a few. With a 10 pack the odds are the same but as with mine they will fluctuate from pack to pack. It would be extremely unlikely not to get at least one female out of 10. If you only plan on getting a few seeds just go with feminized.
False! Cannabis seeds sex is not pre determined. Conditions play a part in sexing of a plant.

Optimum conditions will give you many more females to males. Id say 75% female should be easily achievable with most strains.

Really? Not that i would doubt your words but can you give me a link to read up on this? I never really thought about it because i was sure in a was pre-determined.
But it makes me think about the germination process now since we had only 2 girls out of 8 last time. 4 different Bodhi strains so i thought it was just bad luck because we had 4 out of 5 girls before.

Do you have any evidence to support this or a rationale? I am not calling you out or anything of the sort, but I to was under the impression that sex was predetermined. I understand shitty conditions will result in herms but I have never seen anything to suggest the optimal conditions will produce more females. I have heard lots of people on here and other boards saying this but I have yet to see any evidence.

I like to think that my tent is dialed in but I still get the normal ratios, in some cases more females and other times more males..... I would love to increase my chances. thanks for sharing!

not that i put much stock into what jorge cervantes says, but in the grow bible, he's got like 2 pages about helping to get either more females or more males with a few methods, i'll look for a link and brb..

"Grow more female plants from seeds"

Environmental factors start influencing sex the moment the seedling has three pairs of true leaves (not counting cotyledons). Environmental factors that influence sex determination of cannabis include but are not limited to:
Increasing the level of nitrogen makes more female plants. Lower the nitrogen level to create more male plants. Increase the level of potassium to increase male tendencies; lowering the potassium level encourages female plants. A higher nitrogen level and lower potassium level for the first two weeks increases females.
Low temperatrues increase the number of females. Warm temps make more male plants.
High humidity increases the number of female plants. Low humidity increases males.
Low growing-medium moisture increases males.
More Blue light increases females, More red light increases male tendencies. Fewer hours of daylight (like 14) increases the number of females. Longer days (like 18 hours) make more male plants.
Stress:
any environmental stress tends to yield more male plants when growing from seed.

-This soure of info is in Jorge Cervantes indoor/outdoor medical growers bible. I highly recommend you get this book. Cervantes obtained this info from Henk (owner of Dutch Passion Seeds).

My rationale is that I get about 70-90% females from from regular seeds. I have popped enough beans to see it in my own results. Whether its a direct cause or theres another variable I dont know. There is plenty of rwading material available all you have to do is research brotha.

I have read his before and actually tried two of these suggestions. I did try the nitrogen control with inconclusive results. I have also tried 12/12 from seed and still get average ratios, but I have not tried potassium or a combination of the two. I will try doing this again and pay more attention to my environment.

thanks racer, I am going to try this again and I will document in detail.

I have done lots of reading but imho nobody has actually proven this to be true. I have only read accounts such as yourself, (I am certainly not saying that you are not getting better ratios due to your controls) but I have not seen this proven. I will continue to try influence my ratios with control methods as racer has pointed out plus a few others.

Thanks for the response.

have you ever seen that chart thingy about the shape of seeds determining their sex? just curious.. :D

are you talking about that thing where the seeds are listed 1-5 an those with an indentation (pit) are considered female?

thanks for the info Racer, i can always count on you for providing assistance. i am ripping down my tent in a couple of months for a clean and replace some things that are done. when i put it together i will start fresh and pay more attention to the thins that you have provided, with any luck i will report back the differences.

I'm thinking sex is genetically coded. I'm not 100% sure of this, but it seems the logical conclusion to me.

Why are feminized plants always females? Because the parent plants have only female DNA. If environment was capable of altering sex (DNA) then wouldn't we see a significant amount of feminized plants come out male??
