I think part of being an American should include learning to use guns properly, it should be an option in school, just with a parent signature. Like an elective or something.

That's the stupid thing I've ever heard. You should be able to learn about guns (in AMERICA) without having to risk your life, or sign it over for a number of years.

So you're saying that in order to have the freedom to be properly trained in the use of fire arms, I should have to fight for that freedom. You're logic is flawed, if I want to fight to get that freedom (the right to bear arms, etc) it would be better to join a coalition against the fed than to join the military. But I'm not about to sacrifice my life to be like I'm in the military, this is all just me making actual sense of YOUR logic.

Shaggy if it wasn't for the US Army you would be british.......look up 1776........they don't have the right to bear arms in britain...............I'll try this again, but you won't get much of that ambush training you were talking about:http://www.airforce.com/

It's a concept some just don't seem to be able to grasp.

Firearms training ? Colonel Jeff Cooper founded this little outfit with some of the knowledge he "picked up" in the Marines.

But it really wasn't a standing army, it was more militia and resistance fighters. Aided by the Onieda Indians that Saved Washington and his men when they were starving and freezing at valley forge. Washington was actually told by congress after the treaty of Paris to dismantle much of the standing army, he did so mostly keeping a platoon to guard supplies at westpoint and to keep soldiers facing North in NY as the Brits moved north (see war of 1812). A standing army was something this country did not want upon it's founding due to tyranny becoming easy to grasp with a standing army.

Oh wow, really. This is the first I've heard. What is a revolution? Who is George Washington? And in my own personal opinion, America is overdue for a good invasion. We don't know what it feels like to have a war in our back yard, so we are willing to go out and murder civilians for no reason. It all really started with Vietnam, but the past two Bush wars were just ridiculous.

The point is that shaggy thinks his "rights" just fell from the sky.....and the truth is that many men died for them. He needs to spend a day at Arlington.....

So, let me get this straight, because I don't think you should have to die to learn to use and hold a gun... You assume I automatically have no idea where rights come from? You are a very confused person

Just out of curiosity do you think you are the smartest person in the room wherever you go?

Lol, just out of curiosity, do you consider this to be a room that we are currently in? And no, I just like to talk about things, I never said I thought I was smart. Thanks for thinking that all on your own though, that's nice of you.

No I don't see this as a room. It's the impression that you give. I certainly don't believe it to be true.

So by letting someone know that I know where my freedoms come from, and suggesting that American children should have the option to learn how to properly use fire arms, I some how made you think I was thinking I was smarter than you? You should probably go see a therapist.
