Hello, my plants are about 6 weeks old. I just switched them to flower yesterday.
I had a Viparspectra 450w and just upgraded to 2 QB288 (260w)
Yesterday the growth on the top of my plant was pretty green, Today its looking pretty yellow. I was wondering if it is light burn or something else.
I was reading and I put the light around 19"\
I had the old lights at about 23-24"

The first 2 pics are from the previous day.

I have been watering them every 2 or 3 days depending on the soil. Every other day using Calmag plus. Soil is FFoF. I haven't started on any nutes. Watering at a PH of 6.3-6.5

I was going to start on bloom nutes next watering
I was also reading that temperature may play a part in this. I usually keep the temp around 74 during the day. At night it drops to around 65. I try to keep it warmer but my heater is on an 8 hour timer. I cant catch it before work.

They did when they were younger. They don't anymore. I was actually just reading about that. I am going to get some Epsom salt and when I water them next add a couple teaspoons to see if it helps.
Thanks for the feedback

I think they are already kicking into flower. Did you switch to the QB at the same time you flipped? Maybe that kick started their change. I've seen this when I do a 36 h light off at flip and turn back on and add spectrum. But I may also have had nute problems I don't know about.

Yea I pretty much installed the light and that night I flipped them. So that's what I was wondering about. I mean yesterday they were fine and today they were looking like this. Other than that they have been pretty healthy. Some spotting here and there and one of the plants seems to show very slight N toxicity (slight clawing in a couple leaves) but other than that they have been amazing.

The one picture with the light off and the flash where they look super yellow is pretty enhanced honestly. They don't seem to be that extreme when just eyeballing them. Would it hurt to add a teaspoon of Epsom salt when I water them tomorrow? The leaf veins are definitely yellowing. So I think I am going to do it and see what happens.

Epsom salts seem to be a go to fix that isn't very risky so I would give it a try one water and see if it doesn't get worse before you try some more :o. You haven't added nutes to FF so I think maybe you're safe to try. Then while you wait you can get some Su as maybe Nutty Skunk knew and a little bit of Su once in a while isn't going to hurt either I'm pretty sure.

Okay guys I think the problem was due to it being too cold that morning (temp was 59F) for I don't know how long. This morning they were looking a lot greener than they were so I skipped adding the Epsom salt for now. But I appreciate the input.

That would explain a possibility.
Cold weather can inhibit the plant from using magnesium.
I think if your tops are turning back to green, and the purple stem is going away. You're probably fine.

I wish I would haverknown that before I watered them this morning. I added some at 1/4 dose. I will hold off until it gets further in flowering to add more
No worries.
It should be fine.
If it starts getting worse. Just dump the res. Then do a fresh change without it.
Good luck.
Post back if anything else goes wrong.

A little history too. If the story is true.
Botanicare originally created calmag. Because their general hydroponic nutrients didn't have enough calmag to buffer.
Calmag is a bit of an industry myth. It's a supplement, just like any other.
If you have a decent bottle of nutrient. You should barely ever need calmag at all.
Check the back of your nutrient bottle. It should have calcium and magnesium levels very close to a 2.0.0 calmag already.
You need to take the extra nitrogen into account too.
For instance. My nutrient is a 5.3.9. When I add a standard dose of calmag. I get a 7.3.9.
Plus the extra calcium, magnesium and iron.
I'm effectively changing the way my bottle of a+b functions.

Take it easy mate.
Hope you sort your problem.
