Tips for staying safe within our laws - Part 2 - avoiding "overages"

This thread is intended to point new people in the right direction in regards to one of the most common questions they have about growing.

The question a lot of new people ask tend to go something like this:

"I can have 12 plants but only 2.5 Ounces! Blasphemy! Is this some kind of setup!?!?"

I will attempt to answer for you in the most simplistic of terms how you can stay under your limit 100% of the time and never have 'overages'. This is not to say that there is anything wrong with doing it another way but this is the safest way to stay within the law 100% of the time.

{Partial Harvesting}

One important thing to note when you find yourself faced with questions like above is that

-YOU DO NOT NEED TO HARVEST YOUR WHOLE CROP AT ONCE OR EVEN A WHOLE PLANT AT ONCE-

so here is what you need to do:
Work out a perpetual grow system(check Google for examples) so you only harvest about half or 1/3rd your limit at any given time - this allows you to cure because you can have meds which are prepared and ready for consumption and also meds that are still curing and not be over your limit.

Think of it like an assembly line - I am going to use a simplified example here to help you understand the concept, however it should be noted that its impossible to do it exactly like this without hundreds of plants but you just take this idea and scale it down while also increasing the time between harvest.

simplified example(not realistic) - you smoke 10 grams a day - every day you will harvest 10 grams, begin curing 10 grams, consume a jar of 10 grams, replace your old 10 grams in the flower room, and finally begin to grow your new 10 grams in the veg room. -not realistic especially with our system but I am just trying to illustrate the assembly line idea in simple terms in our system replace days with week or weeks depending on # of plants.

you are right about that sso - especially when the government is controlled by bankers and corporations - but really that is an entirely different topic. Assuming you have a desire to follow the law It is incredibly easy to stay within your limits when you have multiple cards but when you only have one card it can be difficult but with perpetual harvesting it becomes very simple and people like to over complicate things when its entirely unnecessary to chop down a whole plant at once to begin with, simply leave it on the plant if your currently over the limit and don't chop it off until you consume or give away what you already have. Really if it takes you more then a week or two to find a new home for a bag of weed or to smoke it than I think you are probably currently hibernating in a cave of some sort. It is not hard to arrange it so that you always have exactly your limit in stock and can replenish your supply instantaneously. It is unfortunate that we are required to grow like this and we cant just stock up on it but you will soon learn that its really not that big of a deal because in the end you still get to keep or donate every last bit you grow it just comes in a steady stream rather than bursts.

What about the curing process deprave? Is it legal to have your overages curing and not quit dry and ready to be smoked? I am searching for many options just for this very topic.

I think the law says 2.5 of dry and ready material. Curing material is not dry enough to smoke. Kinda get my question deprave?

yea hic, that is still up for debate but personally I count anything that is not on the plant as usable because if something happens you know a PA likely would do the same - I do the same thing with my clones, another debatable topic as far as legality, I count all my clones roots or no roots towards my plant number.

Curing material IS dry enough to smoke technically although its disgusting and doesn't burn good you can still technically roll it into a joint and smoke it and you will get high so in that sense it is usable, on paper or to the layman its just as usable as buds that are cured.

lastly any trim I have that is unprocessed and in paper sacks I dispose of as quickly as possible or give it away for someone to make hash/edibles - and until it is disposed I count that also because you know a PA would try to say that its marijuana (and they have done that before in this state and lost their case however)

If you are going to try and get away with any of the above I would clearly label the bags 'misc stems and stalks garbage for disposal' or 'not usable' at the least to protect yourself.
