Timber grow lights / redwood vs

Timber makes great lights. I am sure you will be pleased with your purchase. @RainDan told me the Redwood VS is designed to be a replacement for a 1000w HPS.

I am looking at replacing some lights in my grow, 1kW DE HPS. I think the Fatty is the one I would need for that but due to it's size the freight is costly so I am figuring out what it would take to build my own "Fatty's" out of parts from @CobKits. Still figuring out the details but it could be that the savings are pretty significant for building them myself.

Just curious if anyone has a timber light in use atm and how good are they? Specifically looking to buy the redwood vs tomorrow. Just looking for a few small reviews on how it is before I spend $850.
I have two from timber as well a 200w and a 400w, both far too big for the space I use them in, but the dimming capability comes in handy for that. Everything I've grown under them has done well and 0 complaints from me. I'm currently looking into more of the DIY yourself options to have more control over the lights, but Timber was a great first light while I continue doing some research and learning the ins and outs of the DIY route. I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with those lights at all.

Best of luck though in your new light search.

Thanks y’all I just set up my 8x4 tent I bought. Just now ordered the Redwood VS from timber. Only had $1000 to get a light so it was two cheap lights to fill then tent. Or one good light and just use half the tent until I order another VS in a month or so. Done a lot but of looking, considered a hlg or fluence light but I’m happy I sent with cobs.

I have a diy Samsung light made by the legendary nfhiggs himself. I’ll be toss that in my tent too so I’ll only “not be using” a 2x4 section.

I recently bought all new timber fixtures. Two redwood vs’s, 4vs, and a 2vl. Unfortunately we are having a hell of a time finding a house in this sellers market so I’ve only used the 2vl for one run and the rest have sat in a box for the last 4 months.....

I can say I am more then pleased with the quality, customer service, and results of timber! I ran one purple gorilla auto in a 2x4 tent using the 2vl in 4k (I bought it as a veg light and figured wtf let’s run it full cycle) and I was very impressed with my tight node spacing and huge frosty buds. I used ffof in 3 gal pots and gh 3 part nutes plus calmag.

All in all I pulled 102 grams of dense, frosty, amazing smelling/ tasting smoke off of the one plant that was a freebie bean from the tude. I did get more of those purple gorilla beans and am going to run a redwood next I’ll probably make a journal for that adventure.

When I first saw Timbers for the first time a month or so ago, I looked quickly at the fixtures then saw the price, said to myself they are fucking crazy asking that much money and shut the page down. The next day I continued looking at different CMH fixtures. A day or two later I looked at Timbers site again, and thought people are crazy to pay that for a light. It was a couple days after that I realized I am fucking crazy. Nice choice on the Redwood VS.

Got my Redwood VS in the mail two days ago on my birthday coincidentally! Which was the 31st. Must say this light feels and looks like a beast! Can’t wait to see how my first harvest with it turns out! Now I just need to order another VS or perhaps a different type of light to fill the other half of my 8x4. Overall, very satisfied and happy with my purchase!

Nice light! I would get another VS or build a DIY one from cobkits.com using the CMX-22 Gen 4 chips (ask Cobby and he can get the Gen 4 chip for you).
Did you end building your own light if so did you get a chance to compare it to a VS? I really wanna get into LEDs. Im debating if i should get 8 VS or build my own.

How is the redwood vs an hlg 600h? Redwood seem good but how is penetration with only one color?
