To confirm what itsme said the other day....from 420 magazine....

Medical cannabis company Tilray is looking to create 275 more jobs in Nanaimo, B.C. and will host an information session through GT Hiring Solutions next Friday for anyone interested in the opportunities.

"They are going to be looking for a wide range of jobs from customer service, janitorial, security as well as — to be expected —the horticultural and cultivating jobs," said Barbara Davidson, GT Hiring Solutions' Employment Service Centre Manager in Nanaimo.

The budding industry in medical marijuana on Vancouver Island is welcome news in light of the closure of retail stores Target, Mexx and Sony on the island, and across the country.

Davidson said Tilray already employs more than 100 people on Vancouver Island and the new jobs will be created once it completes construction of a new facility on the island.

"It's nice to see some different types of jobs, certainly in Nanaimo, as any of the heavy resource-based sectors throughout B.C.," she said.

"It's good to see some diversity coming about that gives people an opportunity to work in their home community."

The jobs information session will take place on January 30, between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. PT at GT Hiring Solutions' Brooks Landing location, at 2000 North Island Highway #255 in Nanaimo, B.C.

Something doesn't seem right, last I heard they had around 80-100 employees and had a job fair to hire another 100 people. And now they say they have around 100? So last job fair was for???? And now they say there adding almost 300 more jobs? hahaha sure tilray, we believe that. Another public display to show those investors how great there doing!

53,000sqf grow space and these guys are hiring 100's of people for brand new market that only the desperate will use while massive green houses that sell needed food have might have that many employees. Something doesn’t add up here? Are these part timer trimmer jobs?
So say these people get 30K per year thats $8250000 per year in pay roll. Where do they expect to get these customers to buy $10Mil+ of weed per year that doesn’t even include the profit they would have to make.

Yes its a sick form of advertising and information grab of the applicants,
They like to know all about your growing experience,
Number of pounds a month you have grown,
Any legal troubles you may have been in etc etc
Reality is they probably are only hiring for their 12 buck an hour jobs
Which they give people the boot from once they are getting too close to union status.
FUCK TILRAY
I'd rather work at the stinkpot pulp mill you grow next door to,
No wonder your weed smells and tastes like sulphur - that's the air it is grown in folks

thanks for that tip bc breeder
people need to know this kind of stuff...
If you have ever stood down wind of a pulp mill...you would not want your weed grown in that
environment .... frickin-scusting....
you also would n't smell any weed....so they think they are stealth...yuck
maybe they are hiring people as full time plant stands,,,,mornin Ralph.....mornin Sam..

Thanks guys glad you see the irony
Considering Phillipe loucas wined endlessly about PPS
Growing in a mine and hes growing medicine 1400 metres , 2 minute drive
From one of Canada's oldest biggest polluting pulp mills harmac
Look it up on Google maps
How much of that junk is ending up in tilray medicine
How can health Canada approve that location
I'd rather smoke biker weed any day, why don't you
Do more of those deals tilray
...

Still looking to sucker people into a minimum wage job eh? All the job postings they had initially upon approval had abysmal pay, can't see that changing anytime soon. After all, how many people does it take to package shake anyway? Errm, my bad, house blend. LOL

as others have eluded to....this is just a back handed way to do some advertising..or just getting the name out there.
cause if your sitting at home ....all twisted up in pain.... in bed...the TV playing in the background... and have been considering using the medical mj...that you have been hearing about...in the news...and all of a sudden....a news story
on how many new employee's a certain mmpr...company will be hiring....
What will stick in the mind of the person that is sick or hurting.....the only medical mmj company name they are familiar with, you know the one I heard on the news.....the other night..,,.,
