Thripe problem

First infestation ever i found yesterday, and ive been growing for years. Kinda bummed, but you learn through experience, so mabe its a good thing to get my hands dirty. It's my own lazy azzs fault for not spraying, being a new a state and building and new grow room. Seemed to be under control in a very short time (less that 24hrs and no more signs). Thrip! I used neem oil, and seems to have worked. They didn't make it past the larvae. What should I expect in the days to come?

when it comes to thrips are you in hydro or dirt because there is a few ways to do it in dirt use tape put it on the main stem sticky side out run it a few inches wide so the thrips cant climb from the soil to the plant. in hydro ive noticed you need to do a full system flush also as they live in the res in the larvae stage. ive used soap on the tape also to rid thm like a poison to em also wash or spray your plants i use a shower or an outdoor hose if they are big or kitchen sink sprayer

I'm in an aquaponic/aeroponic system.

Can't flush...

well not sure if you wanna try this use florokleen in the res for a few hours off n on spraying and lightly spray a bug poison only on the stem and only use a little because the thrips wont be able to eat at the plant and the florokleen kills em in the res

Not sure if florokleen is an option for me either. I have about 500-700 fish. About 1000gals in the system. Fish should eat the larvae in the reservoirs, I would think. I only found them on one aero res and it only had a single plant, but i sprayed the entire Veg garden and the tops of the res's of the flower garden. The plant i found them on was a test aero res, with hydroton and worms.. Maybe that's why it happened.

Neem oil didn't work on thrips for me. The ONLY thing that worked to kill them, was a product called "Captain Jack's Dead Bug" spray with Spinosad. (pretty common, but you can get it online). Plus, you can dust with diatomaceous Earth. Thrips are almost immortal in my experience!. I've seen them SWIM in isopropyl alcohol!

Monterrey Garden Insect Spray for thrips. Drench your plants 2 days in a row, then weekly for a few mths. do a major clean in your grow

Would ladybugs help? I've been thinking of adding them to the gardens, lightly, for years

hell no. tried that for spider mites years ago and they just all commited suicide in the lights. Monterrey spray is your only answer to getting rid of these bastards

Monterey seems lIke a plan. OMRI organic too. Need to double check with the state, they're pretty anal about pesticides.

Do you know why?Ladybugs are sent hibernating. Otherwise they would die of starvation. After being freed they MUST fly for a period of time before ever eating anything. Bugs head straight to the light. Like I wish Republicans would do.
