This is my first post on this forum, but that is because i just read this whole post from page 1. In the beginning i was curious on if "three a light" actually helps. but something more interesting came up, the topic of defoliating. Seems like everyone has a different opininon but dont you guys think that having different lights would change the outcome to much? and also the setup. i just finished my first run and i defoliated like week 4-5 of flower. I know that is kind of late compared to people saying day 21. i also didnt defoliate too aggressive. I cleaned up half the tree and was even told to defoliate more and also to prune more branches. I also did take off the fan leaves from the top nugs too. at the end i did recieve small nugs but this is from a lot of mistakes. Im also using dimlux 1000w lights with almost 15 plants under a light. Just wondering, has anyone gotten a lot of weight with dimlux or gavitas? how many times did u defoliate and how much? and how many plants under a light....i really want nice product and i am willing to put in max effort for this... hahah

I defoliate. Youll find some serious fuckers on here that dont, and theyll tell you all about it. In my opinion there is no formula for figuring out what to pull. If its covering a bud site, or wont allow the plants to breath i usually pull it. I do usually clean up the underneath and trim the suckers. But thats about the only regular defoliation i do to every plant

It's funny how almost every single person on here laughs at the idea of completely defoliating the plant on day 1 of flower and again on Day 20 with lollipoping.

I will tell you.
When I was Cultivating before my arrest and conviction, I followed the 3 a light way as much as possible.
And I hit 22 ounces under x400w Bulbs with Sour Diesel.
I'm sure if I had a strain that could yeild ever more I could hit possibly 26 with x2 400w.
22 ounces = 0.77 grams per watt = 1.375 pounds
26 ounces = 0.91 grams per watt = 1.625

I didn't control humidity very well and sometimes had heat issues.
I could have had better genetics.
Plus let's not forget that 3 a light use a cool hooded 1000w which outputs 1150w's of light double ended bulb with has way more light intensity than a single ended hps.
In fact it's much more better at mimicing the real sun for plants, the light refresh rate is double that of a single ended digital ballast.
Apparently you can get sun burned from double ended bulb light.
I also did feed my plants Co2 which would have further increased my yeilds.

I believe in the Three a Light method.
And will be investing in the book so that oneday when's Legal in New Zealand I can make living off the Cannabus industry.

It's not a scam. It relies on you using a gravitia 1000w DE HPS Ballast and Bulb, trust me Double Ended bulbs with that particular ballast and a super high reflective shade can produce over 3 pounds with a light rail and the right genetics combined with the swazzing technique.

You don’t need a $500 picture book to grow 3 a light .

Yes that's true you don't need that book, you just need a Gavita Pro 1000e DE US 277-347 with the right genetics, swazzing, 1200ppm of Co2 from week 3, Temp 24 degrees celsius, humidity at 58% max and the right nutrition.
Ya , 25 n 59
Just won’t work.

Further to that, that ballast and lamp holder can be hung up high and only loses 6% of it's intensity from 10 meters high to the ground which is impressive.
I can see using one of these with a light rail moving no more 25cm each side which allows the light to penetrate on different angles to create more intensity.
Plus did I mention, a DE ballast like this one has ultra high frequency compared to a single ended bulb ballast that's only high frequency.

Half the people on here are either using LEDs which can't produce shit compared to a HPS.
And the you have DE HPS, in particular Gravita DE HPS at ultra high frequency.
Plus the reflector on this unit is the reason why the light intensity is so much from top to ground.

So yeah, 3 pounds using one these using the correct methods is very possible.

I'm going back to growing soon and I'm starting off with a
Gavita Pro 1000e DE

Sorry correction, commercial ballast won't work at home.
You need a
Gavita Pro 1000e DE
Maybe when you start hitting over 3 a light
You can tell everyone what they need.
The reflectors on the Gavitas are poorly made, I run knock offs .

I know how to grow trust me.
Also I recently got a criminal conviction for Cultivation of Cannabis here in NZ.
I had 39 plants. Got 150 hours community service, 3 months community detention and 12 months intensive supervision.

Im not saying it can’t be done , im just saying that you don’t need a brand name or a $500 book to do it. 7627A5FA-7904-4873-863F-607B6BEB8EF4.jpeg
I consistently crop over 3 a light

Those Gavita's are nice for sure.. anyone ever heard of the King Wing 1000watt DE's..? And hey anybody know anything about how high the Umole's are supposed to be at the Top of the Canopy..? People are saying 1000' to 1500' but that's not Umole's is it..? I got a nice PDDF reader but can't get the Umole's part above 600' no matter how close the reader is to the light.. fml! Any input helps) cool)
