This is what is destroying our country

I'm coming home today. I hear an ad on the radio. It's for a Republican running for Attorney General
At the end. They say who paid for the ad.
The group is called "Wisconsin Homeowners Alliance"
Sounds like a grassroots organization of Homeowners in Wisconsin,

IT NOT
Wisconsin Club for Growth (WCFG) is a state arm of the national Club for Growth, and one of the top political spenders in Wisconsin. WCFG spent $9.1 million during the Wisconsin's historic 2012 recall races for Governor, Lt. Governor and State Senate, and has reportedly received a subpoena in a 2012-2014 John Doe criminal probe into possible campaign finance violations during those races. [1][2]
WCFG's Board of Directors includes Eric O'Keefe, a right-wing political operative with deep ties to the Koch brothers, and who helped form groups including the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity and American Majority. WCFG is led by RJ Johnson, a close Walker ally, who was a top campaign advisor to Scott Walker in his 2010 election and his 2012 recall race

Dark money needs to end for both sides. And the IRS SHOULD investigate this "tax free" organization. And all the others Democrat, Republican whatever.
Because this is BULLSHIT

Exactly

Welcome to the team

Edit: Fuck Scott Walker. That guy is a goddamn lunatic. I'm happy to hear he might lose the shit out of his seat this election!
My prediction is he is going to win.
The difference is
-His opponent doesnt have the cash
-Voter apathy
-Cash
The Walker campaign can afford to give away 3x5 foot lawn signs His opponent cannot
Again Walker with the help of outside money has a 2 to 1 cash advantage
Walker also has all these tax exempt organizations created for funneling dark money blasting out TV ads. They dont have to disclose donors or pay taxes

all this dark money was more entertaining in the last election. this time around the republicans seem to have learned to say "i an pro life!" instead of "women have magical rape-resistant vaginas". and that really makes things tougher when they weasel away from their ridiculous ideas come election time and the dark money covers it with a blitzing ad campaign.

i am still on the fence on this issue, but it seems like a shitty idea to let all this money in.

I like how often you say cash. It's the same number of times you said corrupt.

The funny thing is if any of us were in the position to be given large bundles of semi-legit cash we'd probably take it too.

At least Republicans don't try hide it.

Power and money corrupts.
Lets at least get rid of the money
Yes, because if we get rid of the money legally there is no way it will be introduced illegally... Are you trying to give the criminals an advantage? Of course you are, you are a Democrat :]

If it's introduced illegally we can PROSECUTE. Right now, we can't even do that.

You can't get rid of money if power is still available. The money will come whether it's legal or not. If we reduce the power, then we reduce the incentive for the money.

I don't think we'll ever get rid of the money, it's even seen on small local scenes if there is incentive. Let's work on removing that incentive or at the very least, minimizing it.

This is just silly. The whole point of electing representatives is to GIVE THEM THE POWER TO REPRESENT US AND MAKE CHANGE. If you take away their power, wtf are they there for?

The idea that money likes power so it's futile to try and separate them is equally ridiculous- but it's a convenient fiction for those who like the status quo. Beware what you're buying into when you believe it.

Do you know how many politicians are currently in Jail? Go check out Chicago/Illinois and Wisconsin politics. We do prosecute them all the time.

Again, if you truly understand the situation you must remove the power. The money will find a way to the power no matter what. You remove the power by moving it more local and thus distributing it.

Once the power is gone, once the policiticians can no longer manipulate the tax and commerce codes for bribes, then the money will disappear.

Business pays money to politics because politics can influence business so much.

That is the truth of the matter, you cant take the money away.

Not take away all their power. The federal government is supposed to have less power than the states and a few select jobs which it is fucking up.

If you remake the tax code to a simple flat tax for business and citizens, remove all the loopholes and additional bullshit then congress would have less power to manipulate business. That is the type of power we are talking about removing.

Flat taxes are highly regressive. You're just handing more cash to the fatcats. How? Rich people spend a far lower percentage of their income on necessities, so you've just proposed a tax on essentials for the poor that the rich don't pay to anywhere near the same extent.

Wtf? power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Limiting power is not the same as no power. Take local gov, where most of the corruption is based. You can figure out how to allocate tax revenue to fix roads, you shouldn't be able to pick and choose a no bid contractor to fix roads. Can you see where that type of power would lead to corruption, can you also see how a minor tweak limiting that power (require bids) can solve that issue?

It's not rocket surgery.
