Sounds like a good start. You mentioned that you didn't do it properly last time. What did you do wrong?

I would suggest growing an indica strain. They are much easier to grow. Northern Lights is a good choice also.

first off i transplanted a plant that was in the soil into the hydro and i also didnt not have a pppm meter nor a ph meter at first and i also i was jsut using miracle grow for the nutrients..also a question would a 150 watt grow light be suitable at first for the seedling stage or would a hps make it grow quicker and also is miracle nuts good enough for a soil grow?

you need a 600hps .you want dense buds.buy it now and be done with the light issue .maybe use that 250 for the first stages of growth.not saying it want produce buds ,but probablay fluffy buds the 600 will make them dense.just my 2$

Its been a while since I have had a grow and to be honest I don't smoke any more due to work (Drug Tests), but I found DWC to be a really good way of growing, so much less hassle than a flood and drain type set up, Also lights are paramount, I did the whole CFL thing, don't waste your time, I was a believer but the end result is just not there.
I am sure you have heard it a million times, but start small, perfect it and then go bigger, nutes are also important and good quality ones are invaluable, dont try the Home made wives tale methods get a good two part mix for you Veg and I used a product called Monsta bud for flower, any way thats my two cents worth.

I think 250 is fine for 2 plants. Of course more is always better. You can also hang a few cfls for extra lighting.

Hope you dont mind if I jump in here. Can start a seperate thread if you like.:-| But it might be good to expand on the concept and keep it under on roof- so to speak.
I`m thinking seriously about switching to hydro too. But my immediate concerns are with the root beds. Specificially- separate space off each plant or throw em all together in one big container. Seems that might cause the stronger plant(s) to crowd out the weaker ones. 60x16 working area- depth undetermined as yet.
