Thinking about "Mainlining"

I have a couple questions regarding "Mainlining". I have been supercropping for years and develop plants with numerous cola's but there is still quite a bit of unruly plant that I'm tired of dealing with and don't want to bother with trimming. The thought of getting eight equal cola's is very appealing.
The questions I have are:
1. How much extra veg time does it actually take?
2. I think I already know the answer but are Indica's better for this method?
3. If you've mainlined are you happy with the results from your efforts?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

When i used mainlining it took about 4 weeks to get 8 colas to about 2 ft in Coco before i flipped to flower.

Although in my experience it isn't as effective as a scrog it gets a much better yield than just having a tree and doesn't require as much effort as a scrog so it certainly has its applications.

& with mainlining you want a strain that stretches a fair bit when you flip and dont branch out much so you get just 8 long fat colas so that doesn't necessarily mean indica just go for medium to tall stains.

Thanks for the replies. After thinking about it further I've decided to stick with my normal method of supercropping. I've had excellent success with that method. All it takes is a pinch of the stem here and there and I still end up with numerous cola's. I have a grow in flower almost ready to harvest and each plant has at least eight colas. These are plants that I supercropped. There is more than one way to skin a cat and I think I'll stick with the method that I know well and have been very successful with.
