Think Different Showing Sex?! (Day 22 with pics)

My first indoor grow and so far so good i think. It has been 22 days since these little ladies (hopefully) stuck their pretty little heads out of the soil. I believe maybe some are already showing sex? does that make sense already even for an autoflower? some of my babies are almost a foot tall (4) and the others are approx 3-8 inches tall and are super bushy... very close internodes. One even sprouted two main stocks from seed which really surprised me. I have a 600w MH (florasun) about 20 inches off the canopy as well as 2x300w Full spectrum chinease LEDS to supplement the outer ones due to little space and too many plants. Im using KIND line for nutes by Botanicaire. So the big questions

1) Is this normal to be showing sex this early even though they are in my eyes fairly small?

2) Should i switch to HPS (Hortilux Super HPS) already or should i wait another week or so before doing that?

3) Am i on track size wise and when can i expect them to stretch?

4) What do you guys think about removing the 2 300w leds and a5 of the smaller plants into another tent and using a 900w Mars 2 LED on them. (im asking if i have too many plants in there for a 5'x5'x 6'8"

5) SHould i TOP?! was going to scrog the bigger 4 then just let the others grow.

Really appreciate the help guys any constructive criticism on what you recommend or what i might be doing wrong!

the attachment thing wont show my uploaded pictures for some reason so im going to try after posting to add them... VERY ANNOYING!!

Looking nice, yes they show sex early and yes they will stretch and Bush out quite a bit. I love this strain personally and a lot of others do too, I've grown 7 Think Different and just started another 7 now in a grow tent 8' x 4' x 6'7". Mine are literally on day 2 under lights and a week above soil.

You said your using a 600w MH? Are you goin to flip to HPS?

What soil are you using and what nutrients do you plan to use?

In my personal opinion I think you have 1 or 2 too many in there but that depends how they grow, if they really stretch and branch out a lot. My last lot reached around 40-50" in height, and around 15-25" wide.

Here's a couple to go by as a guide....

Sorry I misread your post, I have no experience in topping so I'm not the bloke to ask about that, I used a 600w super HPS from around a week old and there's never been.a.problem so long as there's enough room between the canopy and the bulb as to not burn them. Otherwise I'd say your on track.

I also have no experience in LED lights either so I won't say much on that subject either...sorry but I will keep an eye out for this thread, I'd love to see how this one turns out :-) *subbed*

So ive done some reconstruction since earlier today. My Mars2 900w LED came in WOHOO! So i moved my grow to a 4x8 instead.... one side i have the 600w MH and the other i Have the mars2... Must say the mars 2 is a powerfull beast... much brighter then the 600w MH. It is HEAVY! but should be interesting to see how they compare in the end.... I put 4 tds under the MH and 3 plus the great white shark auto under the LED. Wanted to keep them separate to really see what the difference would be but it was to cold with just the LED in there so i added the MH so i wouldnt waste electricity on a heater...Will post pics of the setup tomorrow. So should i switch to HPS? Is the Hortilux all its cracked up to be?? Im using KIND Lineup for nutes and am using Pro Mix in air pots as a grow medium. temps are 75 with lights on and about 63 with lights off... running 20/4 now. originally was running 24/0 but noticed no difference and am scared to see the power bill.. hahah. I will add pics of the setup tomorrow after work

Gotta say the 900w LEDs sound very good, I know the power is really high but the cost of getting an LED setup is out of my range hence the aging HPS setup! Also like you said there's barely any heat from them and there is a requirement for the plants to have a certain amount of heat.
I'd like to see how the LED compare to HPS side by side so I think you have a good experiment goin there!

I would say change the MH to HPS now, I pulled 16.5 oz dry from 7 TD under 1 x 600w HPS using bio bizz all mix soil and grow, bloom and top max nutes of the same brand.

I also run on an 18/6 schedule, I see not much difference in.growth goin 20/4 or 24/0 but a big difference in electricity!!

This time round I'm goin with the same set up.as before only.with 2 x 600w HPS in a tent rather than a walk in closet..this is my tent with out the plants in,.they went in yesterday but haven't taken pics with them.in yet.....

1. Yes, I had an auto show sex 16 days after sprouting.
2. Yes, your good to switch to HPS once it starts flowering.
3. I'd expect at least them to stretch 2-3 times their size and yes, your plants look right on track.
5. I would highly suggest not topping, especially since your plants are already in flower. The only thing it'll do is stunt them and make them take longer to finish.

Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

swapped out the MH with the Hortilux super hps.... hope it makes a difference.. talk about an expensive lamp!! 3 or for of those and you got a decent led....dark period is right now so cant do much, was thinking about tying it down a bit and getting it ready to scrog.... going to run out of room because the led manufacturer suggests 2.5-3 feet away from canopy so if they get more then a foot off the height of the pots i will run out of room... going to construct me a scrog net tomorrow hopefully!! too busy with work and life to keep up with everything. thanks for the pointers and will keep everyone posted on how these babies stretch over the next week or two.. going to feed after the lights come back on. been 3 days since water now.

I could be wrong but I think the will shoot up now you swapped to HPS, mine grow rapidly under a 600w and can go as much as 2" a day!

I thought LED could get far closer to the canopy as opposed to HPS....maybe someone can shed some light on this??

I feed mine on every watering and like you it's nearly always the 3rd day depending on how dry it gets.

As for scrog...I've looked into it so many times and it confuses the he'll out of me! I know it's a simple-ish method but I scare myself into thinking ok screw it up and ruin them lol good luck mate il be keeping up with this journal!

I I thought so too but the light came with instructions and that is what they said.. It has 5w LEDs in it so maybe that is why?

Yea maybe it's because it's 5w per light....I know on my instructions for the 600w HPS it says at least 3ft away at all time but I move mine to within around 1 and 1/2 ft, maybe it could be due to safety standards? Probably won't harm them if it was closer as there's not much heat distribution?

I started it what they recommended and will probably lower it today a couple inches and see how it goes... If they look like they like it I'll lower some more and see what happens

Yea I agree, at the end of the day its all down to trial and error to find out what's best for your grow environment and plants you might find they love it! Hope they do anyways lol

My guess is that the LED will out shine the HPS by around 50%, but like I said I have experience so I'd like to know how this pans out!

HEat wise, led's can get closer to the canopy and can basically tough it without burning it if there is a plastic over the bulbs, but for them to work most efficiently, you actually want to give at about 1-2' bewteeen the canopy and the light. I believe it helps the different led colors mix as well since right under the light they dont blend very much and you can see individual dots if you put your hand close enough

Man im frustrated with my grow today, im around day 24 and it seems like they are wayyyy to small for how old they are. Does anyone or has anyone had their think differents sitting at about 3-10 inches tall at day 24? They already started to flower and they seem waaaay to small...i really hope they start to stretch soon and get bigger.... they are SUPER bushy but not real tall thats for sure. i added my new 700w led so now in my 4x8 i have a 900w LED a 700w LED and a 600W HPS..... the temps are at 75 all day and the humidity is around 50. Ive done my research and am very meticulous when it comes to this and it seems like they just dont want to get BIG. Granted this is my first Autoflower and FIRST indoor grow as well but have a bunch of outdoor under my belt... So if anyone can reassure me that they are the right size for the age that would be awesome because im starting to get a little discouraged with how slowly things are progressing.
