Is it possible to grow a weed plant inside by a window? I have a window with a couple of hours of direct sunlight, shines right in. I have one plant going right now, just wondering if this is possible or if anyone has done this. I have seen in on a movie.......Nice Dreams:blsmoke:

you could do but you cant switch a light on in the room unless you move it into a dark room at night.also just 2 hours insant great for yield.

It doesn't sound like such a bad idea as long as you know noone is gonna see your window.

Thats whats kinda cool, is the sunlight comes in at a angle so the plant will not be directly in front of the window.

The glass does not allow the full spectrum, and for some reason even seedlings seem to stretch when behind window glass.
Why can't he turn the light on? He's not flowering.

That is what I have heard is the glass filters the UV out. But I think I'll try it, I'll tell you guys what I get.

Well, not all UV, or we wouldn't have problems with fading of wood floors, upholstered furniture left in sunny locations and the like. Ceestyle is VERY knowledgeable about sunlight and light properties (his nick is not capitalized), I bet you he could tell us more about the whys of why this particular plant doesn't do well being grown in windows.

RUH ROH! I think I need a Scooby snack! :D

Still it would be cool to have a little plant just chillin in my room with no lights :blsmoke:

When I started my first batch(15 blueberries that died in a flood at the end of May)they were started in a kitchen window,no stretching and grew great but I would put them outside on my 2nd story deck when I was @ home for a few hours then bring em in at night.:peace:

I am going to see how big it can get in the window. I'm guessing a little of a foot?

Well I'm not really looking for weed with this grow, just an experiment. I have other plants for the weed starting.

    Probably by it's second node.

I don't understand why ya'll encourage stuff like this. In my state at least, as far as the law and cops are concerned, a plant is the same as a pound. Any plant. It's not going to produce, and your friends won't think you are that much cooler because of some stringy, stretched out seedling you have on your window sill. It is an all around bad idea. No offense to you, OP, you didn't know any better, but now you do so either get some lights or focus on your outdoor plants that are 'starting'.

Also, the bar at the top of my screen says Outdoor Growing.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just trying to encourage you to think about the risk vs. the reward. Which is something vs. nothing.

Wow it's almost like you took it personally.LOL. But anyways as I said it is just a experiment "for me" to see the results. And if you read the entire thread you would see I won't have it directly in the window. No ones going to see, if it was like that I wouldn't do it. I mean jesus your just saying unnecessary sht. Like the "impressing my friends" statement......

The reason I 'took it personally' was because I knew a hard headed kid, not unlike yourself, who had three seedlings, about 10 inches tall with two nodes growing in his living room, alongside another potted plant his mom kept. Long story short, the cops came because the asshole neighbors called in a bullshit 'noise disturbance' call, it was just him and two other kids home and when he opened the door the cop saw a bud light can on the table, came in, breathalisers all around, everyone sighted, cop searched the place, found three seedlings with absolutely no shot in hell to ever produce anything, not unlike yours, boom, manufacturing. Stayed in county until his court date under a parental signature that his mom didn't want to give. First offense, and halfway intelligent judge so it was reduced to simple possession, PJC'd, and after 24hrs community service, 12 drug assessment classes at $60 a class, and 60 days without any other charges it was wiped off his record. Total cost, $720 for classes, $200 for community service, $135 court cost, $120 for court-appointed attorney, and 36 days in country jail for three twigs that had a total possible value of $0.

The chances of something similar hapening to you are slim, but the chances of you getting anything from that plant is 0.

That has nothing to do with my situation, and your insulting me and you call me the kid? Your funny as hell dude. Either way I appreciate your concern.

No, he's not insulting you. He's actually showing that he cares. Cares about someone he doesn't even know. Gotta admit, that's something. :)
