Hello fellow weed nerds, well in an attempt to avoid the drama that was going on I was killing time on PS and well check what came out of it.

Yeah was pumped to see the new one up, going to be my wake and bake entertainment.

i like the idea of the jars with the names on it like crazy train and a pic if possible
I like the idea too but, I think i think it would be more realistic to have a blank white box (hi my stain is....) on the jar that you could write the strain on with a sharpie. Then when you are done you can use rubbing alcohol to while it clean and change the strain name. It sounds like a pain to get jars made for each spacific strain on his menu. Just an idea! Love the new episode sub! Much respect

Thanks for the shout out Subcool. Jessi here. Getting sick from a dab is a little embarrassing, but in the medical grey-area of BHO, I think it is important to get info like this out. Last week, I took a dab of some BHO that was not our own. It had a sour after-taste and was purged only by whipping to a budder without heat. This is not our method, and it seemed under-purged compared to what we usually smoke (which has never caused a problem). James didn't like the taste and thought it was harsh so he didn't smoke any after his first hit. I kept smoking it all night. My throat went from a dull ache to an unable to swallow sensation. I felt like I had something stuck in the back of my throat and when I looked in the mirror I was shocked to see what looked like a second tongue coming out from down my throat. I needed to lean forward to breathe properly and at times it felt like a flap was sealing off my airway. I went to the urgent care where they told me they were unable to handle my situation and would need to escort me to the adjacent Emergency Room for immediate treatment. I received a quick diagnosis at the Emergency Room because the doctor had seen an instance like mine a few weeks prior, although it was previously a very rare occurrence (BHO has just recently become popular in our state). I had Chemical Epiglottitis, which can be a life threatening situation. Luckily, mine was not! Chemical Epiglottitis is caused by irritants or hot vapors that pass by and damage the epiglottis (the flap the covers your wind pipes when you eat/drink). When this happens, the epiglottis swells and has the potential of closing off the wind pipe, making it impossible to breathe. I was lucky and the swelling stopped before I needed any serious medical interventions. For those less fortunate, a run in with Epiglottitis has the potential to send a patient into the ICU, emergency surgery, or a tracheotomy. Its serious stuff! It was a hard lesson for James and I and taught us to always smoke our own, or at least know what we are smoking. We are both taking some time off of BHO and are slightly disappointed that our usual health-conscious decisions were so unknowingly reckless. It sounds like a different girl also had a scary experience at the HighTimes cup. I hope she is alright as well!
James and I are dab-neutral and do not want to stir up a debate on the pros and cons of BHO, ISO, RSO or any of the other extracts. We do, however, hope that medical instances like my own serve to improve the safety of the community and do not hinder the progress of legalization.

I'm glad you are ok, when I heard that story I was like  holy shit. I never knew anything like that could happen with smoking Mj related anything, but I guess once you start adding chemicals and stuff your taking away from the natural and refining it which is always more dangerous.

I agree with sub 100% about chasing that unique flavor and feeling not just the most thc, which should only be found naturaly as soon as you have to add chemicals to acheive that it's bad news just go find some better genetics or make em lol.

Thank you for telling the complete story and I hope your alright!
I will continue to try and educate people on the dangers of chemical solvents personally I believe it took 20 years off my life span
I will probably choke to death one day from lack of O2 and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else.

If I change one persons mind then I may save them from my fate!

Brother, thats a fucking crazy story......really glad you are alright......i tell you, and i have been saying this for awhile, but BHO is the fucking biggest road-block to the momentum we have going for medical acceptance......this will be used against our cause as propaganda, if it gets in the wrong hands....we can't let the irresponsibility of a few ruin it for everyone else......BHO is the new free-basing....junkie style.....it is really sad.........i am not judging you for making and using it, i am just saying it is a process that can easily be done wrong by the inexperienced.......like you mentioned how there was a girl in the ER a few weeks before you, with the same deal......i am sure they are also seeing kids coming in with butane burns from making it indoors....alcohol extraction is one thing (with care of course)....but butane, or naptha etc.....bad shit.........again glad to hear you are alright....

see thats exactly it....what is the one thing that separates Canna from all the other drugs...chemicals...coke, heroin, x, pharms, etc.........we have to keep it pure......i am really excited about the momentum of the organic meds movement, and i just fear that the chem side of the equation could factor in as a huge negative.......keep it green everyone.....

Scary stuff! I guess I'll stick with ice water extract. Does the hazard of smoking an extract like BHO come just from the solvent? would that make a HO that was extracted with liquid co2 perfectly safe, or does smoking 80%thc content irritate the throat and lungs all by itself?....

Shit, as if bubble isn't potent enough. I think the BHO process takes the beauty of the plant and thrichome out of the equation. THe best part about toking is examining what you're smoking before you start, BHO isn't as visually pleasing or intriguing as Buds, Drysift, or bubble in my opinion. They suit me just fine.

One of the biggest problems with bho is that people think because it's weed, it's safe.

The reason there has never been a death by marijuana is that, marijuana does not act on the medula oblangata, the part of the brain resposible for involuntary controls like breathing, heart rythm, blinking etc... But what about the dissolved solids and chemicals in the butane? It would only take one element in the bho to severely damage a users brain.

If you want to see how impure lighter fluid really is, hold a piece of metal or something in the flame of your lighter and watch it turn black... That is in your lungs.

Also, the correlation between cancer/leukemia in chefs/line cooks and propane/butane stoves is hard to ignore. I've had studies regularly shown to me over the past 7-8 years that are rock solid proof of the dangers.
