My bulb has been working fine for months. It won't strike light at all, electricity gets to the ballast, the fuse pops, and power dips but doesnt completely go out for a second.

Yeah all ballast connections, reflector reconnections, my hydrofarm-standard adapter, and basic timer (tried with and without) have been unplugged and re-plugged back in.

I've also posted my recipe that I whipped up and am letting cook. I am NOT an organic or soil grower but I am giving it a try again.

Some new adjustments to the SCROG. I took some lights down, put new ones up, then replaced them. Solo organic soil plants surround the inside of the RDWC system lol. Cant forget my big batch of cooking soil with massive mixing drill bit every so often.

Its all hydroton, its a different brand thats darker but has far less clay. Yes, EC was that high. (end of week reading, diluted with water after)

I wish I knew how to grow in soil, I rely too much on dry fert/soil to feed my plants and come week 3/4 they have N def's =(

Snagged a couple lghlly used 1kw hotilux blues for like 25 bux per.
Decnt deals to be had anymore , prices seem to be dropping here due to all the competition .

You could buy a new 1k hortilux for $60. Theres a hydro store around here touting that deal all the time on the radio.

$20 is a fucking steal.

yeah I have a lumatek 1k digital ballast and I ran a hortilux eye bulb and my ballast blew in less than a year. So I did my research and come to find out many others are having this problem... Except back in the day the cords from the ballast would overheat and melt/fuse together. Or something dramatic to that effect, Im a carpenter... fuck electricity and its bullshit.

SO IVE RAN USHIO bulbs..... AWESOME MH bulb <3

So I think Ill stick with another Ushio 1K HPS because both of my ballast are lumatek (you know the purple ones with fins) however I find look at the newer commercial DE ballast like DB raved about.

Oh and since I am on my own forum.... I harvested the plants closest to the 600w completely and had left the other 2 that were in better conditions under the 1k before it died. So now I am actually harvesting them because they look nice and I need to remove them regardless. The bud is amazingly different. I get a fruity sweetness to a green crack? Its FUEGO compared to the other shit that come out *sigh*. Silver Kush and Cole Train were complete failures due to equipment failure and income instability.

Pull a ma'fuckin Db.
Your problem wasn't the hortilux lamp, it was the lumatek ballast.
The hydro shop I visit had a stack of lumateks with various melted plastic parts sitting behind the counter.

Yeah it's funny how the price dropped by 50 percent. If they can do that at one shop they should be able to do it at all shops.
Competition around here is fierce.

Vum, make sure you have plenty of headroom if you go DE, I'm already prepared to dim if I have to.

My hydro shop boasts about a 1k MH bulb thats 230$ and they have all the scientific foot print, spectrum, intensity, longevity charts that are generally just misleading.... And I was like... uhhhhh no.

So I chopped down the Silver Kush and Cole Train which will be made into bubble hash due to equipment failure during week 4/5. Chopped the Sharksbreath which looks decent but I am most surprised by the Green Crack... It came out the nicest and I might actually keep the nugs to smoke instead of hash em xD

Cleaned room out today. 4 RDWC spots and 2 mini plastic pools (for my organic soil runs... it'll catch spare run off water instead of ruining my carpet). 2 pools and 2 redbulls for $15 :hump: :clap:, not bad.

Get the work brother! Sucks about the equipment shitting on you and having to cut early.

I've gotten Green Crack before...Well allegedly, but I didn't grow it so who knows. Was some good smoke.
