The Verve: Forth

The Verve came back from an 11 year hiatus to release their fourth album entitled "Forth." I just recently picked it up on a whim, and I'm really enjoying it. They are going back to their old ways in the 90's and it's great to hear some shaman-psychedelic-rock.

Anyone else listening?

Check it out Seamaiden. I've listened to selected tracks from their older albums and I decided to spring for this album because after all, they are responsible for one of the best songs of my generation "Bittersweet Symphony" and this album ended up being right up my alley.

You can definitely feel the psychedelics involved in this album especially on the song "Judah" where Ashcroft invokes "the trip has just begun" repeatedly. Shaman-acid-rock honestly. Or on the song "Valium Skies" with the line "Doesn't it feel like the whole world is frying?". However, the single "Love is Noise" with its candy-acid loops can get a little redundant after a few listens but still another anthem either way. Anyway, I'm really enjoying it. Great music to light a bowl up to and enjoy.

Thanks for the heads up, Achilles. I live in bum fuck mountains here, don't get much radio, what I do is either Latino or country (and western, you know, for variety), along with lots and lots of Christian radio! I come from L.A. so it's been an... adjustment.
