I know most of the electronic music heads on here are down with Shpongle, but I think the godfathers of that genre are The Orb. 'Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld' is just ridiculous, I'd say maybe even trippier than Shpongle because Dr. Alex relies more on samples than live music. Like all of a sudden this oddly-mixed staticy, backwards recording of a cosmonaut will come on in the middle of a track... and so on. Best listening session ever, I was smoking some serious hash spliffs with some friends listening to said album, and people were tripping out because of the disembodied voices coming out of nowhere.
