because the plant still needs nutrients for the last two weeks... if you were in soil than i could see cutting the nutes off for the last 2 weeks, but youre in hydro...

i would flush for 2-7 days... you dont need any cannazym but it is ok and safe to use up until the day of harvest if you wanted to use it for some reason, but i wouldnt waste the cannazym unless you were in coco with plans of reusing it.

Cool thanks for the info. I am going to use Canna coco for the next grow and hopefully see some beautiful results. +rep

nice thread------100% organic yields in soil(organic based mediums) can match those of hydro with the correct application of techniques and methods.
I dont want to argue with a Dr. but here is one man that seems to disagree...

This is a quote taken from a article in Canna Talk issue #6 :

"A grower that feeds 100% organic components will never maximize their crop"... -Geary Coogler, B.Se. Horticulture.

he basicly goes on to say that you can come really close with organics, but u cant make everything AS available to your plants as you can with other methods.

idk, I personally have not had very good results in organics/soil mediums but im not really trained in that area, im more of a soiless medium/ synthetic type of guy.

anyhow, not doubting your skills or calling you out, just wanted to share the info i found...

hey jberry, you seem to know your cocomojo pretty well. theres been talk of better end product from re-using coco as it will have 'beneficial bacteria' just wondering if you know a bit more about it?

i always thought coco was inert so i dont know what the bacteria would be feeding on?!?!

the canna coco is charged with trichaderma (beneficial bacteria) that grow and multiply over time... the longer you use the coco correctly, the more beneficial bacteria colonies you should have built up...

the trichaderma feed on the Coco A and Coco B.
BUT, they are washed away and killed by plain water or water with too much chlorine in it... this why it is important NOT to use plain water or tap water with chlorine.... and your minium EC should be 0.6 to keep your micro life happy and thriving.

DO NOT RUN PLAIN WATER THREW YOUR BRAND NEW CANNA COCO!! YOU WILL BE WASHING AWAY THE LITTLE TRICHADERMA THAT CAME WITH THE COCO.... THE VERY FIRST TIME THE COCO GETS WET, IT NEEDS AT LEAST A SMALL AMOUNT OF COCO A & COCO B. and your ph will have a harder time keeping stable if plain water is used.

once the coco is a few months old and your microlife levels are high, than you could get away with a few plain water feeding as a flush before harvest.

i wouldnt call the coco totally inert because i believe it adds and takes nutrient elements from the nutrient solution on a small level and over time, and i dont think totally inert mediums such as rock or clay would do that?....

I know it starts out pretty inert but as it decays, i believe it starts to have a low EC... possibly from K? and it is known to hog calcium as well.

by the time the coco is a few months old than i would guess that 300-500 of your ppm run off is from the coco decaying.

you can add "great white" to your feeding schedule and it will introduce a lot of micro life (not just trichaderma)... other innoculating products are "vermicrop" and "humtea" ect...

so yea re-using it allows the levels of micro life to build and the micro life feed on the nutrient enriched coco and that helps with nutrient uptake in many ways, as well as breaksdown deadroots and turns them into sugar and they attach themselves to the root ending and then form a chain, which in a way, is making your root system larger than it actually is.

Canna says not to use the coco for longer than 8 months or so, but i only use it for 2 cycles (4 months) and then i toss it...

if you have any bug or mold issues than i would NOT re use it ( thats why i only use it twice... because the longer you use, it the more likely something will go wrong )

if u do re use it, than double up on the cannazym for the last week before harvest... ( 18 ml. per gallon )

hope that helped a little, this is a subject i am still learning about myself...

but the short version is: the micro life eat the complex form of nutrient and shit out a more simple and absorbable nutrients... they do a lot of other stuff as well :eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke:

With the introduction of the BIOCANNA products, it is possible to grow biological crops in a controlled manner for the first time. This is a solution especially as regards the use of plants as a basis for medicinal purposes because like this a naturally grown product can be offered for consumption. Besides these health aspects, biologically produced products are also more in keeping with the views of many of their users and their flavour is preferred by many. It's not for nothing that there is a high demand for biological products.

BIOCANNA fertilisers are guaranteed 100% organic and especially developed for cultivation on soil.
Products grown with BIOCANNA fertilisers may be called biological or ecological (abbreviated EKO in Dutch), provided they are grown biologically and in accordance with the international SKAL guidelines.
BIOCANNA fertilisers are not only SKAL Int. and OMRI certified, but also have the exact right preparation method, thus preventing an overdose of nutrients. Overdosing does not only harm the environment but also the plant, which can cause growth problems.
It is also possible that a plant receives insufficient nutrients due to an incorrect method of preparation.

Biological or organic is said to be good for you and healthy. Many companies cleverly use this fact and call their products biological or organic. However, a critical comment must be made here. Not all products with the name 'bio' are biological or organic and these products are not per definition harmless. BIOCANNA fertilisers have been legally tested on these criteria. Therefore always cultivate in an honest and sustainable way!

CannaResearch has shown that products grown with BIOCANNA have a higher percentage of certain essential oils such as: ß-Pinene, Limonene, Caryophyllene and α-Humulene . These essential oils determine the scent and flavour. It is a known fact that limonene improves blood circulation and has anti-inflammatory properties.

CANNAResearch has succeeded in developing a certified, organic soil that meets international organic standards. Bio Terra Plus is made up of 100% natural materials and as such can also be used for organic cultivation. Bio Terra Plus is made up of top quality peats which include superior quality white peat. The airy structure of white peat is supplemented with shredded tree bark that has natural anti-fungus properties. Bio Terra Plus has been pre-fertilized with certified, organic ingredients such as bone meal, bat guano and a variety of trace elements from natural sources.

High quality peat
The peat that is used is the best quality that can be used and is only found at a few places in the world. The longer fiber structures of the peat in BIO TERRA PLUS are in contrary to cheaper versions much lighter. Being much lighter is a absolute advantage for the plant.

Bark
The bark we use has special characteristics. Low quality bark can often be the cause of negative moulds. The one used in BIO TERRA PLUS has a anti-septic characteristic!

High-quality coconut
In BIO TERRA PLUS there's also use of coco's fiber, actually the best Coco is used: CANNA COCO.

Certified balanced biological fertilizing, enriched with positive soil bacteria for the plant will create a beneficial symbiosis: so less soil diseases, better release and absorption of nourishments better development of the plant.

BIO TERRA PLUS is a pre-fertilized soil. The degree in which this pre-fertilizing is used by the soil depends on the degree on which nutrients are administered. BIO TERRA PLUS regulates this by itself. So when you administer little nutrients it will use a lot of the pre-fertilizing and with a lot of nutrients used it will use less. The pre-fertilizing remains present in the soil, even if it isn't (directly) necessary, the soil will save the pre-fertilizing for when it is needed. The self regulation doesn't depend on the water added but depends on climate temperatures.

Slow release: gradually releasing the useable fertilizers for the plant from organic complexes/molecules in the soil because of a sort of degradable process. This process will reduce less rapidly unless extra direct to use nutrients will be administered to the medium and vice versa.

Because of the self regulation and the slow release effect it is quite difficult for you to make major feeding mistakes!

The soil has the possibility to correct your feeding schedule when needed.

BioVega has been developed especially for the plants' growth phase. BioVega is rich in highly absorbable betaine nitrogen that is released according to the plant's needs. The bioactive substances in BioVega stimulate the root development and the formation of strong growth shoots. This allows even the fastest growing plants to optimally start their blooming period.................................................................................................................................................

BioFlores was developed for the blooming phase of fast growing plants. BioFlores contains a hops extract. Due to the fact that BioFlores contains a hops extract it provides many of the necessary minerals and in the correct proportions. In addition to these minerals, hops extract also contains cannabinoid-like substances such as lupuline , luparol, lupulon and humulon , which provide the plant with extra blooming power.

...................................................................................................................................................................

Bio RHIZOTONIC ...

The most powerful root stimulator for organic growing.

Bio RHIZOTONIC is a 100% natural, organically certified root stimulator (OMRI). Bio RHIZOTONIC contains a range of vitamins, including vitamins B1 and B2. Bio RHIZOTONIC stimulates the development of root (hairs), root tips and increases the plant's resistance. A powerful root system ensures that the plant can absorb more nutrients and grows faster. Bio RHIZOTONIC has a noticeably vitalizing effect on plants. Thanks to Bio RHIZOTONIC the plants extend their roots throughout the subsoil more quickly. This is why Bio RHIZOTONIC is, among other things, an ideal remedy for stressed plants such as cuttings during potting on.
Bio RHIZOTONIC also restores and strengthens plants that are unhealthy or look poorly.

...............................................................................................................................................................

BIO BOOST...
After years of field studies, in the primary rainforests of South Asia, Africa and Middle America, among other places, and research in CannaResearch's laboratories, CANNA is very proud to introduce BioBOOST!
BioBOOST is a yield increasing agent for all cultivation systems and can be applied in combination with all CANNA's nutritional lines and additives. BioBOOST is not a nutrient but a natural fermented plant extract with bloom stimulating characteristics that are also responsible for a fuller flavour...BioBOOST was developed by CannaResearch from plant extracts from tropical rainforests and is a true boost for plants. The bioactive substances result in an extra metabolism that is exactly what the plant needs during the blooming period. The plants produce more fructose, become healthier and stronger and are less vulnerable to diseases and plagues. The result is a higher yield with a strong, exuberant and vital fructification.
The number of bio-active substances in BioBOOST is enormous.

................................................................................................................................................................
CULTIVATION TIPS FOR BIO CANNA GROWERS...

BioBOOST is an additive, not a replacement -

Tip 6. BioBOOST is not a nutrient but a metabolism stimulator and for that reason supports the working of other CANNA products, such as PK 13-14. Use less concentrated BioBOOST -

Tip 5. BioBOOST can be administered manually and trouble-free via automatic drip irrigation and/or via spraying the leaves. Watch out when using a dripper system -

Tip 4. It is advisable not to use automatic drip systems, when using BioVega and BioFlores, because microflora can develop in these systems which can cause blockages. However, if you do decide to use a dripper system then it is advised to:
1- use hoses and drippers with a broad diameter
2- to rinse the drippers with water after each feeding session Use up the prepared nutrition quickly -

Tip 3. Not only the plants, but also micro-organisms really prosper in a diluted solution or BioFlores and BioVega. It is advisable to use the prepared solution within two days. Shake products -

Tip 2. It is important to shake bio-products well before use. Apply diluted nutritional solution 1 to 3 times a week. Do not acidify -

Tip 1. Due to the presence of pH buffering fruit acids in BioVega and BioFlores, the nutritional solution does not need to be acidified. Because the fruit acids serve as natural chelates, the nutrients can be absorbed across a wider pH course (up to pH 7)

Another really important fact about canna nutrients that i should have posted in the first page is that:

Canna designs their nutrients for tap water with a ppm of 200, and they are counting on the majority of it being cal/mag...

This is crucial if you want to get the results you deserve... After all these nutes arent cheap, and they wont work and be stable the way they are suppose to, unless you have that 200 ppm of cal/mag...

Idk why canna doesnt make this more well known?

when should i introduce canna pk 13/14. How long after i began using bio flores and Cannazym. Or should i introduce it at the same time?

it depends on your strain, but usually pk is good to use week 4 and/or 5 of flowering.

you can use the cannazym as soon as you have a nice developed root system.

me neither mate, it should be on the bottle. Or they should have hard and soft water varities. My plants would be suffering bad cal/mag defficiency otherwise, if I had not learned this fact from you quite early on in my grow!

Also, great reply to Don's post! Thanks man.

they actually do have soft water and hard water specific lines, but not for coco... they only have it for their Canna Substra line which is for totally inert mediums.

yeah, hopefully they will introduce the hard/soft varities for coco A+B sometime too. But having said that, now I know I need to supplement cal/mag, it is not really a problem.

thanks for the info jberry fella! spot on. so whats the deal you work for canna i take it?
no i dont work for them, but it might be a cool job :blsmoke: I wonder how much these nutrient companies pay $ ??...

no, i have just learned a lot about their coco products and their coco.
So i decided to share my info with people who have questions:eyesmoke:, theeen i figured if im gunna have this canna thread, i better have all the basic company/product info on here.:eyesmoke:

sooo, now it kinda seems like a advertisment for canna, but hey, they ARE good clean nutes!

but to be honest i am not using their entire line anymore... i used to use everything on the chart at the rates suggested and nothing else at all and it worked good, but my new line up works better.

I have done some experimenting with the following non-canna products but only a few of them made the final cut: ( i used these in substitute for, or along side of canna's coco line)....

H&G Cocos A and B
Bud XL
Roots Exelerator
Shooting Powder
Drip Clean
Hammerhead pk 9/18
Great White
Vermi Crop Tea
Gravity
Mad Farmers MOAB
MagiCal
Cal/Mag Plus

After a lot of products, work, and various results, I have created a new line-up (for now at least):

Canna Coco A and B
Canna PK 13/14
Cannazym
Bud XL
Mad Farmers MOAB (be careful)
Great White
Gravity
MagiCal
And im still waiting on the results from the Rhizotonic VS. Roots Exl.
And i may use drip clean again, at first i didnt think it did anything special, but now im thinking it may have?

kool man! yeah it would be a pretty wicked job.

well thanks for the info fella!

i noticed im using a lot of the same nutes as you!

just for the magic

the growth rate of roots in coco is amazing. add the rhizotonic to equation and it is truly mind blowing. And I have never seen roots so white. neither in hydroponic mediums or aeroponic setups. I am trying the boost at the moment. what i am seeing is not so much explosive growth, but very even flower growth. I have colas forming that are 60cm long. Also, my tap water has a Ph of 7.0. Wen i add the boost, it brings it down to 6.1....very handy indeed. this is my first coco grow and i am quite impressed.
