The Nug Machine... Round 3

I know it doesn't look like much for as long as I have been vegging, but right now, I have in essence, 12 plants and as soon as I top the AK once more I will have 16 mains, tops, colas.....
All being nourished equally from the third node via the "manifold".
SOON, you will see massive growth !

Well, It may have been a day early, but I topped the AK47 for the final time.
Then.... CRAP !
I was checking the PH and I accidentally bumped and removed one of the 8 new growth shoots (tops, colas).
So now..... only 15 total..... :wall:

Yea man, no biggie, it will still be crowded in there with 15 colas.
As far as cleaners, I haven't used any yet as I am on my 3rd grow and each time I have completely changed the system, so I just used all new piping and everything.
I personally scrubbed the pump and some other small pjeces with a toothbrush in dish liquid soap.

BUT, I really think that THIS is the system I will run for a while.
So I will most likely try some of that cleaner or something similar.
I even went back to the store and bought 2 more HEFTY tubs for my res, and stored them for emergency backup !
Of COURSE, (with my dumb luck) if something broke on one of my res tubs down the road, they would be out of stock on them,,, so... I have redundancy!

AND... Guys and gals, PLEASE bear with me when I use the word "perfect" so much.
I am not being cocky and arrogant, (well maybe a little cocky) but I just can't believe how this machine has evolved and one by one, I have addressed and corrected previous things till I really believe that this is close !
Really, it almost built itself, like it talked to me... LoL !
I filled the res last week and added all my nutes and bennies, then I PH'd the soup to 5.5.
All week the auto add-backs have been topping of the res via the new float valve.
The PH has crept up all week long and the AM it was at 5.74
By the end of the week, and res change time the PH will be around 6.2.
Once again, this is... perfect !
You want your PH to drift and not remain constant.
This allows the roots to absorb the whole spectrum of nutrients.

I literally now feel I could go away for a week to 10 days and everything would be just..... fine !

What are you using for a float valve?
I got this little baby on Amazon for like $8 shipped.
This one accepts a 1/4" water line (i.e., ice maker).
I have been monitoring everything heavily for the first few weeks but I think I can back off some now.
At first I would shut off the inline valve at night, just so I would be sure to not wake to a friggin mess until I was sure of it's reliability.
I can check it periodically all day.
The water level has remained constant.

Thanks to EVERYONE for all the kind words !

Since I lowered the soup level in the root tub to JUST under the net pots, I can check the PH up top, but I can't read the TDS meter when it is in far enough.
So I cut a little trap door in the lower res lid.
Also nice for adding my PH adjustments and my bennie tea.

I just trimmed off the 8 fan leaves that were left on to help power the 8.... err... 7 new colas on the AK-47.
NOW, all of the toppings and most of the trimming is DONE !
There will be some selective defoliation along the way, but it's just building budsites and vegging, for maybe 2 more weeks ???
I want the AK to catch up a bit.
I will be bending the tall colas of the GLF all around, I'm sure !

looks sweet man, aren't you worried about height problems with the fridge though?since you are only making use of the top half for the plant itself.

I did a res change yesterday.
Everything in the res is great!
There is a buildup om the air hoses and the sides of the tubs, but not slimy.
Probably a buildup of the bennies and the nutes.
As I was refilling the system I grabbed a quick pic of how I extended the soup input line all the way to the bottom to a T.
I am gonna take that back off because it still doesn't flow the roots around to the Fish window, AND, if the pump fails or there is a power outage, the top tub siphons down into the smaller lower tub...20151009_140821_resized.jpg
