I have a cheap Sony a230 w/ kit lens

If I'm holding my camera I shoot on:
Aperture priority
on lowest aperture I have f4 stop (would love to have a macro)
ISO 100
AWB
Portrait style
Auto focus unless I'm shooting really tight up

Post:
I use Adobe Creative Suite 6
I start doing adjustments in camera raw then fine touches in photoshop (although I've forget 95% of the stuff I learned)

My lights haven't come on yet so....
Here's a no correction pic of my $500 cloner

and here's after

Nug's and Sub have both made a point to me... make your shot look AMAZING right off the bat, don't rely on post. Keep that in mind as we discuss.

My old photography teacher who does it professionally taught me reading your histogram is the most important way to make sure your taking good digital photos; its really hard to fix clippings you didn't want. I agree about taking the best image upfront as possible so lets discuss some tips and tricks everybody can use without having all the expensive equipment and get the most out of what they have photographing the plant we all love.

Here a link to a basic primer on histograms http://www.mcpactions.com/blog/2011/06/20/a-photographers-guide-to-understanding-histograms/

Those Clones I took were off a Jilly bean that I just put into flower she's been a champ so far and the only girl that didn't get bogged down in some soil that just about killed all my seedlings (I forgot to cut that batch with some perlite and lightwarrior). Stem rub was a peppery mandarin smell and I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do.

Here's a nice pic of the main cola off a headband clone I have in flower now at 21 days taken under a 1k in my crappy 4x4 tent:

Here's after I crop out what I don't want and make corrections
