The Main-Lining Thread

My timer just flipped on my plants (8am here), so I'll be taking pictures (Day 18 of Flowering) in an hour, and post them in an appropriate area.
Whoa, grown an inch - at least - overnight (during the last 12hrs). Starting a Grow Journal here @RIU atm, so in a while you'll have my first post to read an comment on, if interested.

@Mohican I'd appreciate if you'd take a look at my now starting journal, and giving me some input/feedback. This obviously goes for all of you!

Yours,

Tomas

Well i tried posting last night but my internet took a shit:wall:Here are a few of my mainline projects ,but before i do i should explain they are not getting the best attention as i just moved to my new place and just now got a proper grow room:-P.but first few pics are for the gearheads out there i call it tri-power she's aView attachment 2276684View attachment 2276685View attachment 2276686View attachment 2276687 Dinafem diesel. talked about this earlier in the other thread. It sprouts 3 heads when topped this is a clone and she kept the trait,so happy about that!.next pics will be a few i have been working on from clone which is proving to be a true PITA! And why not a few of the new room, notice the door nugs looking forward to hanging one of your centerfolds up there!View attachment 2276690View attachment 2276691
So when you top this strain the first time it splits to three mains... If you top those three do you get 9 mains or does it produce only two mains per, for six??

CFL's are only for people o
Noob here....quick question about main-lining. Would you discourage trying this method using cfl's?? My nephew is growing for the first time and i saw this method and thought it makes alot of sense. He's growing in a 2x2x3 tent, 3 gal pot using coco coir and pearlite with fox farm nutes... He's at the point where he should make his first cut for his manifold, but i wanted to see what ya'll thought
CFL's are only for people on a budget. They work , but are < MH which is <white led, which is < Blue spectrum for veg.
it would be like comparing a corvette with a K-car

Topping gives you two new tops. Then 4, then 8, then 16, then 32, then 64...unless you break some off :o

@D-Rok - It works better if you let the plant get about twice as big as the first picture before you start. Your nephew's will still work, it will just take a bit longer.

I was questioning the "tri power" as he said that when he topped it gave 3... So my question was if he topped those did they multiply by threes each time

I see what you are referencing. I wonder if triangle gives three tops when topped? I am so sad that something ate my triangle this season.

Cheers,
Mo
So if a triangle is topped, does it give you three new tops each time?? First cut, 3 new mains...second cut 9 mains??

don't listen to the above please! Omg so much misinformation so far on this thread! D-Rok, your plant is fine. 9/10 times your plant feels it is a little low on a specific nute, (might not be even N-P-K). Could be something silly like Maganese or Zinc, but what your plant is doing is pulling what it needs from a fan leaf. Think of fan leaves as disposable solar panels that provide energy AND nutrients. It sacrifices a few now and then.. you don't even need to pull it off, just leave it. Your plants are healthy.
Cheers mate and feel free to pm me on here if you have any questions. Some guys on here are chocked full of bad advise.

Well here we are at 25 days from sprout, White Rhino and Exodus Cheese.
Had a little Mag. issue but all fixed now, at least for the time being. :bigjoint:

They are around 10 " untrimmed as of yet, short and stocky. Sunday I will make my first cut to begin the Manifold (Mainline) grow. That will also give me a mother of each plant. Will be topping for an eventual 8 cola Manifold over the next few weeks.I normally would have made my first cut already but been in and out of town so much would not have been able to water the clones to get them started. Will be planting them in soil.

I have backed off the N twice now as they look really dark to me, I am using the modified Lucas formula for coco. Calls for 6 ml Micro and 9 ml Bloom plus 2 ml Cal/Mag and a gram of Mag per gallon. I am down to 4 and 6 ml respectively. That little extra cal/mag sure did the trick.

I think my problem is I never grow the same thing twice, so each time is a new experience with different issues. No problem, I love it.bongsmilie

Here they are at 25 days from sprout.

EC on the left and WR on the right

EC, should have turned off the MH

WR :weed:

Till next time, Peace Out!

I have some thick ass side stems. When do I start cutting these off? Do I wait until week 2 or do it sooner?

Clean them up now, no time like the present...though are you sure you are in the right thread? This thread is about mainlining - building a manifold. Perhaps you should have a read thru the advanced marijuana training section

The timing is different from grower, plant, environment.....2 weeks was what Nuggs did them at. This is only a guide....

All that shit on the bottom would come off it it were mine, but don't take that literally please. Your aim is to increase airflow and push energy to the tops. Thin out a little and see what she does after few days.
