The Main-Lining Thread

It's getting crowded in the flowering tent :)
She got connected to the tank yesterday so she will be taking water herself through the smart valve..

Some more supercroping..
They will start stretching in a couple of days so canopy has to be as flat as possible :)

Big girls are fattening slowly but surely :)

Here is one of the mid leafs on CC/BBGA #5, The pH damage is very visible, not sure what it did to the plants because the cola look great.

Plant the leaf was taken from. CC/BBGA #5

Thats all for now, WW main cola's will be harvested tomorrow evening, will leave the smaller shoot another week or so.

Today at 4:20 I harvested the WW, I only cut 7 of the 8 mainline cola's, left the last cola and the side branches for a few more days in the cabinet. Now they can get more light and maybe fatten up some more.

Cola on the far right is 10"

Remaining side buds and the one remaining Cola.

The two CC/BBGA's now have more room in the cabinet to finish. Max time three more weeks, probable two, as I want a head high not a couch lock high. Of course I love those also. LOL

I stuffed my latest grow trying to main-line. Damn not happy..was going well plant was growing really fast and forming well..then snap. the whole left side just snapped and there was no way of saving it. So now i am left with just the left side growing and it will now slow down my growth by 2 weeks as it now has to form itself to the new structure of the canopy.

Too much risk. I told myself i wouldnt try it again..but noo i had to do it. Thats it i am sticking to other methods. You can get the same colas if you top a few times and then lst your plants in a clever way. I have done it on a few of my others already.

I wonder how many grows in the last year have been wrecked from people trying this method? He really should state its for advanced growers only and outline the risks involved. I was extra careful but i still managed to snap and destroy a grow.

Hugh, I have had three ML grows now, did have my share of problem but it is a learning experience and you cannot man handle them or yes they will snap even if yo think your being gentle. More time has to be spent with the plants to look for stress fractures and back off the bending some. I have broken my share of branches, most I have been able to repair. I think it is a better method for a larger space or outdoors, that would be a hoot to do one outside.
My next grow is either going to be LST with some pinching involved or maybe a SOG with short tight WW stock, am supposed to get a great WW clone from a friend, have smoke this plant and she is a real keeper.
I only have limited space so I need to try and make the best of it.
Sorry about your problems, my bud in NM tried his last grow and said he did not have the patience and the ability to be gentle with the plants.
Your right it is not for everyone. I do not have the patience to do a SCROG, it takes more training and time than the ML (manifold) method.

Chop chop time in the flowering tent ;)

Trichs were all milky with a hint of amber ones so timing was spot on..

We'll se how they yield after five days of drying with lights off and extraction fan on 24/7

There were two plants in each pot from the start because I was learning main-lining and I needed more plants to train ;)

One was trained for 2 tops, one for 4 tops and two for 8 tops, the one with 2 tops turned out to be dude..

Basically each one had only 7,5 liters of pot space to develope their roots so I'm satisfied how they turned out..

Check out that root mass holding everything together, that's the sign of healthy mycorrhizza life within the roots ;)

Harvested the remainder of the WW yesterday. Hanging to dry now.
Have spread opened both of the CC/BBGA's under the light now all bud sites are getting nice light. In reading up on the parents of this cross, Female Cotton Candy and Male Blackberry/Grape Ape, they all say 9 to 11 weeks of flower, I am at 8 weeks and one day. I plan on monitoring the trichomes on both plants and harvest the first one to show 10 percent plus amber. I expect to see that sometimes this weekend at 9 weeks. I will then let the other go toward the 10th week and evaluate the trichomes at that time for 25 to 35% amber.
I can tell exactly when the pH went south by where the most damage occurred on each cola. I have removed and large number of pH damage leaves. They both seem to have responded well to the multiple flushing I gave them and the change of nutes. But I have raised the level of the ph to 6.2 going in but the rinsate is still coming out 5.5 and below, even with straight pH'ed rainwater. Tomorrow I will flood flush them again with 6.0 pH'ed water again until I get a reading of 5.8 to 6.0 coming from the rinsate. Hell I want to shut the water off to the first one at least three days before I chop her. They are still drinking a lot, they empty the reservoir in the bottom of my Hempy buckets in a day. That is between 6 and 7 cups/day depending on how dry the coir is when I water. They are getting fatter and fatter.
:weed:

The first 4 are CC/BBGA #3, this plant had the lesser of the damage cause by the out of control pH. Her pistils are still mostly white and plentiful, so much so they almost look slimy. Oh the are not slimy but very heavy in trichomes. The trichs are mostly clear.

Two pictures of CC/BBGA #5, she had the most damage from the pH problem. She has many more reddish pistils but still very large quantities of clear trichomes and no amber.

I've used this method on my BC Blueberry strain for 2 generations of clones. I love the yield but still get a lot of branching out from the bottom of the plants after they go in to the initial 12-12 stretch. It's all good though, maybe next seeds I buy will be Ace of Spades :)

There should be some kind of list or database where those who have main lined can enter the best plant for this method. The high yeilding plants seems to get a lot of side branching which can be deceiving when you start to prune them.

TGA Chernobyl, TGA Dr Who, TGA Conspiracy Kush, TGA Quantum Kush, Sensi Shiva Skunk, Mandala #1 are all great mainlining plants. Fairly even manifolds though also need to employ some LST and/or supercropping from time to time.

Harvest is complete!

Three plants, just under 7 zips.
I know the pH problems, which I created myself, caused a reduction in total weight. WW starting 4th week of cure, C5 2nd week of cure and C3 has just started the cure.
Have tasted each, WW harvested @ 7 weeks is a two bowl uppy high with wonderful med properties, I think I could have gone another week there, C5 that I now know I harvested too early @ 9 weeks is a good buzz but not what it's sister C3 is, she will probably end up as butter. C3 is a two bowl very clear working type high, the pain and spasm relief I am finding will only increase as this plant ages. Three bowls of C3 and you start to get too relaxed to work, so you sit down listen to music and accept the nap your about to take, LOL.

I now have one Afghan under the SS400 vegging. What a short tight plant it is.

Peace out,

Congrats on completing the cycle!

Those look delicious.

So they might have been bigger. They will last until
you make the next ones... :0)
