I'm really reconsidering running the Platinum OG. it is such fine smoke Others really like it too.

I am considering

• Getting some full mesh Boldt bags to complement my bubblebag set (thinking 45,73 at least) any other recommendations?]
  
• Build a new bucket stack
  
• set up a mixing bucket with a drain system (so I dont ruin the 220 bag by stretching it out from lifting it will all the wet trim and ice etc.)

those bags are still on special order with the code phrase "Frenchy weed nerd' from Stephani " right?

You can just call and order, they are working on the Frenchy style bag page.
I do press thin to be sure than every resin has burst open and is part of the mass

hand pressed 3 peices last night a 45u , a 25u and a 120u all under 2.25 grams all 3 pressed fine just as expected

All 4 were kept in the fridge ( I live in a very low humidity desert the Mojave) . the powder was stored stacked in glass candy dishes. however the 73u was on top open to the refrigerated atmosphere. (the fridge also contains food) I tried to press a 10.25g piece of 73u using a hot water bottle method which I have used before with great success. However after the third hot water bottle pressing it fell to crumbles upon attempting to roll .


so I chilled it out and ran it through a tea sieve with some pretty small holes (much smaller than you average strainer.) to reduce the surface area. while doing so it felt sort of wet (of course it may have been just cold) So I am letting it dry at room temp in a 76 f dark place of low relative humidity level.

I intend to try to press the resin again in a few days after it dries out some.

It smells something wonderful so I don't think it is ruined.

Am I on the right track or barking up the wrong tree and this resin is destined to remain in powder form?

This is to show the change that happens when you press with too much moisture present and the crumbly waxy consistency it brings about. While it really is great for rolling into joints, I think my personal preference will dictate me drying out my trichomes more before I press next time.

I broke it up and let it dry out because I had it sealed in a jar, in a moving truck, for way longer than I'd have liked. Friggin transmission blew out halfway through Wyoming so it was stuck in a uhaul in the desert for a few days... Anyways, I managed to dry it out further, but when I tried to repress it simply would not melt down the way it did the first time. Wouldn't melt down at all actually, and had a very difficult time getting it to stick together without fissuring and crumbling. Very interesting change. I had to settle with repressing in my palm to make a solid chunk, but it is nowhere near as solid or complete of a press as my initial.

I think this is what I got this time around. I wish I had the pics from this post. I tried to repress and I got severe crumblage.

finally got it into a ball lost a gram or so doing so.

live and learn right. but the smoke is still fine the texture just isnt so pretty and nothing like the first couple pieces.

that looks fantastic... I can really see the results of the secondary washing and thorough rising.

IF I might ask how did you prep the bars prior to placing them in the machine.

I remember them to be about 3/8 think by 1 1/4 wide by 4 1/4 long. and were resting on a 25um screen which was folded over the bar to envelope them and that was wrapped in a terry towel and the entire kit was then placed in the fridge.

did you keep i them refrigerated prior to drying?

did you place the bars on parchment and or in a pyrex dish etc (.did you leave it on the 25u. screen ? ) before placing them in the fridge.

what method, if any did you spread it out any before drying?

chop, press through a sieve etc.

you might have gathered I am having concerns about developing my own drying methodologies, strategies and tactics

the base of my information is your videos, instruction from the class and a limited amount of personal experience.

vacillating on the machines purchase right now. the Frenchy boldt bags are a no brain-er by my way of thinking.

Put together a stirring bucket with a drain system so I can cease using a "work bag" to stir in



and built a new 4 bucket stack for my 190,160,120,73,45u (will probably pull the 120 after the first 2 washes ang give each its own ring (Ive have been getting some really fine Blue Dream heads from the first 2 catches in that bag) Ill strain the run off through a 25u for edibles.
I'll be using a 45 psi sprayer for the clean up rinses (hopefully it will be strong enough)



Cant wait to get some full mesh bags because JK got werk to do.

if anyone needs info on how to DTYS for the mixing bucket just shout out and Ill throw together a parts and tool list.

Thank you Frenchy , Will do as you guys suggest. Believe it or not, I can't get bottomless buckets anywhere here so I bought normal ones[food grade] and will try to remove the bottoms myself. Anybody else have to do this? Tips?

try using tin snips. they work very good for cutting the bottoms off and leave very little rough mess around the edges with.

what is left can easily be dealt with by wet sanding w/ 80 or 100 grit.
