The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

I'm wondering how much heat for how long to press my kief.

My kief box holds about 5-7 grams of buds and every time I fill a bowl I gently shake the box so my buds gently slide across my 100 micron screen. I get a bowl full of golden kief every week or so on the tray that I save up.

I have a nice screw press with ceramic pegs so I'm not worried about dropping it in boiling water or the oven I'm just wanting to turn my dry sift into something with the trademark hash flavor in my mouth instead of the same ol kief sprinkled on the bowl.

From my understanding and having watched Kif From The Rif, where they show the traditional dry sift pressed hash from the Rif Mountains in Morocco, it seems heat is the key to get them waxy/soapy hash flavors out.

I have seven bag bubble bag kits, both the one and five gallon but IWE is a whole different game than dry sift in my opinion. I'm technically quadriplegic so I don't grow my own medicine thus making ice hash doesnt happen often for me. When I do it's actually my wife who doesn't smoke who lovingly stirs my buckets for me if I get trim from my caregiver.

Bein in upper Michigan myself there's no dispenseries to just buy it here, but my caregiver does give me awesome shatter that he has made, I just want to "better" my dry sift.

Sorry for the long read, any advice would be great, until then I will get back to reading the 214 pages in this thread. If I coul Palm press I would and there's no way my wife will do that, lol.

Thank you, Carl

Check this video it will help
I also have an article in the latest Weed World "The Lost Art of the Hashishin" where I explain the process in details
Best would be to press a little by hand to experience the transformation of the resin. Warm hand, warm room and a lot of pressure for 15 min, you will most certainly get a blister to let you know that you did a good job

Wow, great video! I'm saving up to make a nice puck, only got 2-3 grams right now but another month or so I should have 5-7 grams, should be enough to try it out. My kief is very light gold compared to the video, is that dry sift you start with or ice water extract?

Thanks for the fast reply, learn from the best or die with the rest!

It is ice water sieved resin. I do not use anymore the ziplock bags, according to specs low temp are OK but... I use turkey bags instead or more precisely chicken bags.

Finally got to the end of this thread! I have only a few questions:

1. Will you be at the Cup in Portland, OR this July?
2. What do you call a female hashishin? I want to say hashishini.

Thank you for your videos, they brought me to Rollitup and this place is like a university full of knowledge.

Welcome to the end!!!
Oregon in July sounds good but I truly can't say right now.
Hashishini sound really nice. The word has origins going as far back as the 7th century and the birth of the Muslim civilization.
Hashish production and consummation is a male only word in Muslim country so that there may possibly no name for female Hashishin
I will use Hashishini from now on.
Awesome

I have seen just one person with dry sieve during the whole weekend, I thought the DSW would show off his good but it looks like photos are all he does.
On the other hand I did not move from the Aficionado booth except for the Panel on the Future of artisanal Hash in Cali with Nikka T, Dorian from Beezle, Taylor from T.Bezzle farm and Robert C Clarke, which was quite an honor. Incredible weekend, a weekend of sun in the middle of a rainy month, that's some serious good karma.

My TGA relation is all based on my friendship with Subcool and Mzz Jill and the whole Weed Nerd tribe (not to have to name too many names) + the vid I do with TC. I do not work for TGA, I am just a friend and a big fan.
I am officially Aficionado Hashishin and as such was presenting Aficionado Hashish to promote the genetics at the Cup.
