Cups cost a great deal of coin FYI
Thats more about how well you run your business more than genetics
I dont mean its rigged but the more you spend the more you win.
Think Yankees when Stienbruner was in his hay day They weren't guaranteed to win but had much better odds because of the coin the had to invest.

With adequate light they'll puff up, god I love weeks 6-9. Get 50 lumens psf. If you don't know how many you have or are using cfls, I doubt you have enough light.

do you mean 50 watts per sq ft.? 50 lumens per sq ft isn't much at all.

Hi there all
Ok I know I don't have a lot of posts and def don't want to talk out of of turn but the comment about the trim pro is an accurate one. Mostly because I have one and one similar as well called spin pro. Pretty cool invention and all that, but for medical grade top shelf stuff I wouldn't want my prize buds tumbled through these things. I still use them though, but for bulk stuff that never sees my patients hands. Mostly inner little flowers that are a real pain to trim. Really saves time if that's what your looking for although if you ask me who wants flowers which have had had there trich heads all busted off. This one here should seal the deal and give you a reference to the extent of damage they cause. when you have rolled your flowers and are all done you can get a huge thumb full of hash by pressing your fingers against the rubber ones that roll the bud along. Ouch! Right. I know you can get a little when you use scissors and here's a huge plus you keep most off your trich heads. In everything we do now days seems like everyone is looking for an elevator instead of the stairs. Keep it simple save your money! Also remember it is our responsibility to try to put out the best quality meds possible. In doing so we can make the whole world fell better a little at a time.:-P

I see its been asked a few times but it wasnt answered I dont think, I went through twice but I was just curious how long you leave your jars open? I've read 10 minutes, 2 hour and 4 hour cycles, I've read some pretty weird methods without ever really following one particular or really finding an absolute answer. But I am curious how long you and the mrs. recommend leaving the jars open for.

just a spin on things... Im using quick cure dry racks for 3 or 4 days then into turkey bags where I can open them up really easy to monitor.
Then into seal a meal bags. Next year I'm using 5 gallon buckets with lids.

I know not what you asked, Entire closet of these jars...

After hanging for a week in a dark area with air circulating lightly, at 60%+ humidity. I then jar the bud, which is at around 70%. Meaning if you enclose these fresh buds in a jar with a little hygrometer (measures humidity), in an hour or so they'll register 70% or more. That's high, and so those jars I'd leave open for 1/2 hour, and do it twice a day. I really like to bring the moisture down slowly, but I'm more aggressive with the open-lid time until I'm below 70%.

I also separate big colas from popcorn, since popcorn dries faster. The fat colas take a long time to get that core dried a bit. I use 1/2 gallon mason jars, as I don't have a large grow, just for me.

After the Rh% drops below 68% I open the jars for maybe 15 minutes once a day. This draws down the moisture very slowly. Like maybe 1 point a week drop. When I get to below 65% I open just enough to burp it. Sometimes I inhale the air in the jar to hurry up the air exchange. So the lid is off maybe 15 seconds. I do this burping maybe once or twice a week.

I spread this curing over the course of months. I may vacuum seal the jar at that point to remove O2 and almost stop the curing process.

not to disagree with the masses but i tend to believe that up to a point the longer the drying takes the better. when i harvest I only remove fanleaves and large protruding trim i generally keep the guard leaves on the bud these prolong drying and while the plant is alive and breaking down sugars and chloraphyl in the first three days or so i find the leaving the guard leaves tend to give the process more time in breaking down the icky green pigments. i know other caregivers that immediately trim upon harvest and theyre taste and smell dosent hold a candle to mine. Im actually known in my area for having unique and superior tasting flowers than most its what works for me anyway guys do whats best for you

AJ31, I think many here, myself included, would agree. In fact, I slow the first few days of drying by keeping hanging bud in a sealed area with a humidifier keeping Rh above 60% at 70F. For 1 week. Then I proceed as per my post #55 above.

I agree this is a major component to bring out complex tastes and aromas while letting the harsh (chlorophyll) degrade long before I toke.
