With all BS set aside, for one this video is flawed , the vehicle would of of calculated the safe distance to follow with road conditions added with there tire sensors so truthfully speaking the car behind the semi would in fact be further back to begin with and be able to stop in time

my thought on this.. its a lot like riding a motorcycle, you might be the best rider out there.. but you never know what other dip shit drivers are capable of. i would never feel safe in a car that drives itself. they might be quick to react to situations around you. but what if youre on the highway boxed in and someone swirves into you or something. youre gonna hit another car or probably get rear ended, and in a car that drives itself its even worse.. odds are you wont be ready for the impact. if you think youd be truly focused and ready.. why wouldnt you just be driving the carWith all BS set aside, for one this video is flawed , the vehicle would of of calculated the safe distance to follow with road conditions added with there tire sensors so truthfully speaking the car behind the semi would in fact be further back to begin with and be able to stop in time

but man.... ALL of king's movies were shitty..
with a few exceptions, but the exceptions he had LITTLE to do with the production..

Self driving technology will get better with age. All things considered I'd rather be on a hwy with all self driving cars than on a hwy with cars driven by people. Human error accounts for most accidents.
I read just the other day that because of this new technology the number of cars on the road will soar and this fact alone will lead to many other problems.

there will be just as many human errors in these cars except the errors will be in the programming. and like mentioned above what happens when some asshole decides to hack the system for these cars and there doing 100mph crashing into things all over the place then what do the people inside do as they dont have control anymore

There will probably be a way to switch back from autodrive to human drive as I can't imagine a car that we have no control over at all but what you're suggesting will be the exception rather than the rule. There will be problems I'm sure with programming but once the bugs are worked out it has to be a better system than what we have now.
The technology is here to stay. It is inevitable. It is the future. Resistance is futile.
The cars will join up with each other, inches in between each other not feet. Better wind resistance etc..... conserving fuel. Computers never get tired etc...... I'm betting we won't own cars they will become public utilities. You will just call a car when you need one and it will show up. I can't wait.
