I think that'll work just fine. I've hopefully got way more head room for outlet flow than what I'm pumping in. I'll be moving about 350 gph after losses. So I don't think the flow impediments from the elbow and tee will matter much.

    You ever use Coco DB?

I've been looking for something simpler to run these seeds in so I can run a bunch of plants at once to pheno hunt but the Coco plants look terrible. They look hungry but I was being told I was overferting?? I was giving them 1.4EC. They seemed fine, but then started to droop a lot.

Anyone have other suggestions that's more like DWC but without having to check 24 buckets? Lol.

Was thinking of suspending netpots over a flood and drain so the roots grow into the tray sort of like a large dwc. Using PVC pipe cut down the center to form channels that the netpots sit into and then cutting holes into black/white poly that will act as a cover. Lids for F&D tables are like $100

That sounds like it's work. Or you could go nft If you don't mind sharing a res for a few plants

Every now and then but I hate anything that even resembles dirt. I did have pretty good results when I ran a table of coco on drain to waste.

Easy now, lets not get carried away.......................730nm far red @ lights OFF, 660nm deep/hyper/photo/whatever they call it red @ lights ON in general for emerson effect.

I swear RIU hates this thread , never gives me a notification

I just got my far red pucks by growmau5 and rapidled. Stopped by my hydro shop today since they said they'd have my light in but all I did was drop off cash and walk empty handed, now they say tomorrow. I won't hold my breath. That ceramic hps should be all it takes for emerson effect.

Yeah each gm5 far red puck is good for a 3x3.......yes plenty of 660nm in that bulb's spd for "wake up", can mess with 14/10,13/11 flower light schedules

What's the advantages of having this light? Makes it flower quicker?

The far red led pucks? Flower initiator and emerson effect.

Doesn't anything less than 14 hrs initiate flower? What's the advantage?

I decided to just go flood and drain with hydroton. Made the most sense. Only thing is I went with pots that have holes at the bottom and that's it. Curious as to how this will work. Water likes to find a way in so I think it will work fine. Only 45 cents per which is why I went that way

Something to do with the process of initiating flower a bit faster , I don't remember the names of chemical/hormones or whatever is involved but there's threads here and info in other places. Said to decrease flower time by a week. Emerson effect is increased rate of photosynthesis through different light.

Finally. Probably voided my warranty by screwing that puck to it before I even turn the fucking thing on. The hole was already drilled and what hortilux doesn't know won't hurt them. IMG_7368.JPG

At first this light seemed like a normal hps but not as harsh. 20 minutes in it reaches operating temperature and is white as can be, kind of warm too. I may go ahead and order some of those fruity quantum boards for warm months.

Just wondering why you never got a gavita 750w flex if you're messing with 600's now ?..... not wired for 240?

Qb's will be easy peasy to run in the CO summers. ...... miss the salt water yet; )

Yeah wired for 240 but never really interested in gavita for some reason. I was talking to a friend and he came off with "qmh" and mentions how his boy is pushing qmh and revolution micro stuff. I had never heard about the qmh and asked him what that acronym was, he didn't know so I told him it was probably quartz metal halide (which seems like a good idea, I should look at the specs).

So summer is rolling in soon. I'm getting ready to swap systems and I can't decide which way to go for lighting. I'm currently running 1600 watts of air cooled hps over a 5x5. I don't have the about 700 of need to build a cob rig or get qb lighting so I'm pretty well stuck thinking of either keeping the rig now and buying a second or larger air conditioner. Or alternatively downsizing lighting. Basically in your opinion after playing with all the new ceramics is it worth me swapping a 1k hps with 2 315 cmh and supplementing with the 600 hps if needed or should I lean toward running a ceramic hps and keeping the ushio 600 running? I'm basically just hoping to knock off about 400 watts of heat. My current a.c. keeps up with a 1k hps mid summer no problem. It runs all day but keeps it under 85 and ideally I'll have a screen full of ready to flip ladies mid to late may so I can run the lights at night to mitigate some more heat.

Personally I'm buying 600 watts of quantum board IF I can get a decent price, if it works out for me I'll get another 600 watts. Depending on where I get it the prices seem to vary by a couple hundred dollars. Seasons being all fucked up and not knowing just wtf to expect I'm going to be half assed prepared even though I refuse to run any ac for the room. I'm not sure chps will be too hot to run or not. 315 cmh runs pretty cool and air cooling helps even more.
