LOL, to be perfectly honest, that is a ridiculous position and I would not
hold it against any person openly ignoring it.

If you can recreate the mother and father, then you can remake more of a specific bean.

That is something that only you can do....that you can charge an appropriate fee for.

Imagine trying to breed the parents starting from just the children...a fool's errand, and so
this is something that the breeder holds as his/her own.....and quite rightly so.

But to think that one can control to future actions of independent growers is more than a little silly.

Just my $0.02.

Oh, and let me add that I find beans on the floor....and I find up-potted
plants without labels.

I give these names that I find funny...like "Number One" and "FOD"*

Now, if I ever sell a bean that I say has "FOD" in it's parentage, then I will
leave it to my customers to wonder what "secret" breed it actually is....

bean maker was annoyed to hear his product run down. :0)

Let me leave off with this word:

I have gotten at least a dozen packs from The Cali Connection through TDT.

I have grown about 8 out so far and not one has been like another.

I should add that I have grown things that I stupidly forgot to label, only to
regrow them later and *knowing* that I had IDed the previously unknown breed.

i.e. I just labelled something "Jedi Kush 2" because that was what I *thought*
was the bean I had used....only to later grow out "Rainbow Cookies" and to see
that same plant again.

One thing I do seem to have gotten good at, seeing the differences between breeds.
I do run a large number of different breads, all the time. LOL

I think that we are cool here. :0)

If they don't like people breeding their genetics then they are in the wrong line of work. DVG started with other people's work the same as every other bean company that's sprouted up in the last 10 years I'm going to buy some now just to make f2s and sell them for the cost of postage..Fuck bubbles!

I was thinking about names....Maybe a hybrid of Grandpa's Breath.

How about "Grandpa's Breath Through His Nostrils"?

That was supposedly what Hell is like, according to Jim Carey.....
having to listen to him do that while eating sandwiches....but Carey is weird. :0)
