The Clubs, They Lie

It's a very, very common practice to sell whatever strain you have a lot of, as whatever strain your members are asking for. Seriously. You got a bunch of White Widow, but folks are asking for Green Ribbon? Bam! It's Green Ribbon.

You'd be amazed..

No shit?...
Any place with $60+ 1/8ths are the same 1/8ths you could get at another club for $30-$40, tis business. You get the dumbass SoCal bro to go to a club and only want "THE BOMBEST FUCKING OG KUSH IN THE WORLD BRAH" so the club owner says: "Well you're in luck, $60 an 1/8 as he pulls out an 1/8 of Sour Diesel. The bro smells the weed and say: "Woa that's some dank man, I know my weed and that has to be OG FUCKING KUSH BRAHHHHHH." You got to stick to clubs that give fair prices and have chronic weed.

Dispensaries are pretty bad. I know quite a few growers that are just as terrible though.

It's all about dispensaries that get the same bud from the same grower consistently. It might not be what the name is but at least you know its properties.

There's some really good and honest folks out there, don't get me wrong. But sadly they are mostly the exception. Trust your eyes and nose over your ears when buying.

Yep. Most dispensaries do that. When a strain doesn't sell under a certain name they just change the name and the price and it sells. It's not always the dispensaries either, vendors do the same thing when selling to dispensaries.

That's the result of people buying bud based on brand name rather than quality. Dispensaries aren't going to lose thousands of dollars by letting a pound sit there because people don't like the name. When bud doesn't sell sometimes they actually raise the price, and change the name then it sells. If people are happy with it, and can't tell, then what's the difference?

Did you ever stop to think that maybe it's partly because pot smokers have turned into spoiled little bitches since being able to have a storefront to go to? I had no idea what strain I was smoking the first 10 years I smoked. I was happy with what I got as long as I made it home without getting arrested or robbed. Now patient expectations are ridiculous. Basically, you're bitchin about white american shit. Stop taking life so seriously and go smoke some weed, it's the law!

I'm bitching about "white american shit"? Huh? I don't even know what that means.

I don't buy my smoke from the clubs, in fact, quite the opposite, so it's really no skin off my nose. I'm just pointing out that many of these people will look you straight in the face and lie, which is something that folks should be aware of.

You say that "patient expectations are ridiculous". I'm sorry, but I just don't think that expecting simple honesty is really that ridiculous at all. Maybe it's just the way I was raised, who knows..

I agree. There are a LOT of shady practices that go on in the collective world. I believe that I've found an honest collective in my area, but as stated earlier, they are rare. The wars between the collectives are the ugliest part I've seen. Where mine is at, it is a county island and there are 4-5 collectives in a 2 block stretch. The collective I belong to had their first anniversary yesterday, on 4/20, and have grown rapidly. The other collectives in the area will stand in front of mine with signs and telling people to go to theirs instead. I just laugh. Because, imho, when someone has to stoop to that level to get customers, there's already a problem.

As for strain names, I feel pretty comfortable that I get what I ask for with them. They do sent their products out for testing and that gives me quite a bit of faith in them. I USUSALLY don't buy a whole lot of bud from them b/c I grow my own, but waxes, oils, clones, seeds, etc. are awesome!

So, you're such a bored d bag that you publicly complain about issues that don't even affect you? I hereby sentence you to watch Doug Stanhope's comedy for 5 hours or until you realize you suck as a human.

It seems I've made you angry, and for the life of me, I really can't figure out why. I mean, the only people that could possibly be offended by anything I wrote would have to be someone with a financial interest in a club that's knowingly misrepresenting their meds.

If you were a club owner who had lets say 5 pounds of bomb weed but no one would buy it at any price because of the strain name and knew people would think it was fantastic if they renamed it, would you change the name or take a $15-20k loss? Pretty easy business decision IMO.

There is dishonesty in business everywhere, why would a dispensary be any different....oh wait I remember, it's that stoner naivety of some sort of brotherhood.

i think its ok for them to change the name and even price as long as they are not misrepresenting it in its effects or naming it an already existing strain like dan kome says why would they take the loss
although this is wrong on a few levels its just business

unfortunately we cant don't have any over here in NZ

Meh, i don't understand why people bother with dispensaries, they charge more than illegal dealers (how does that work?) the origin of it's stuff is dubious as you say, and well, your buds probably had 50 different noses stuck in the jar :p not to mention you've got to pay for the damned card. Robbed left right and centre

Half the problem is that dispensary customers on the average can't tell good bud from bad bud. Good bud can sit on the shelf for months while bad bud sells out quick.

They want to open every jar in the house and then buy a half 1/8th of the strain they read about in high times magazine.
