The Church, Mazari Super Space Hydro Grow

Lol, thats just 1 girl actually. The entire garden before I cut her down was quite huge lol. It's been taking me about 5 to 6 hours per plant to trim down. And I'm pretty quick with it too. They were on average 40 inches. I had some blue dream growing right next to it that ended up twice as bushy as the church so I'll be doing that on my next run, except with coco this time not hydro

Well I've given the Church two colas and one large branch which I hope will focus it a bit. And I don't know about you MJ but the leaves are massive!

As for my Mazari in front, she is my Frankenstein with- get this, five centralized colas (which will probably just disperse energy drain too awkwardly from the plant and end up a big, slow mistake).

And my Mazari in back is my baby with the two large colas and two big side stems and a whole bunch of other little branching tops.

Just trying some experiments in topping to see which produces the most.

The Church is crossed with 3 strains so the time will vary per phenotype, you receive by greenhouse. Sometimes it can go from 8 to 10 1/2 weeks I heard. Honestly it's just easier to give it a time period and not an exact date, thats why when you read it online it gives it a week or two time frame of when they think it should be done.

So basically here's my problem with Greenhouse seeds and The Church strain. Greenhouse just doesn't care about their seeds. Their packaging is crap, and 3 of the 5 did not even sprout! Apparently its pretty common for them! :wall: Greenhouse is also notorious for bombarding the market with expensive hype tactics in order to promote old strains they kept from growers they fired ages ago. So why am I growing The Church? It's "stable", and actually genetically similar to the Mazari. Both the Mazari and the Church are part skunk for size boost, and have a strong indica lineage. But otherwise the Church is a genetic mess, skunk and northern lights with part sativa... sure it's stable and resistant to many grow problems but that's why I got the Mazari too, stick with a classic. All I can say is... let's see what happens shall we? :weed: :peace:
Hi RF, I had the same problem and so did my mate, GHS 5-packs .... 1 sprouted and turned red developed 3 baby leaves instead of the norm (2) then just died, the 3 other paint coated shitbeans failed to grow at all leaving one seed that did actually grow (Great White Shark) ... I really like Dynafems seeds atm.. & Big Buddah, What are the pros n cons of growing the 'Church' ?? am liking what you've done so far, keep up the good work :) - STELTHY - :leaf:

The biggest con with growing the church is the side branches don't produce as strong as the top, so lollipoping is good for it, or multitopping it. The upside, the amount of resin being produced from it. I'm gonna be able to make something like a qp of hash out of all the trim I recieved off these girls. Makes better hash then my blue dream strain. The buds aren't better though lol.

Ugh Greenhouse... S'aright. She is lanky and falling all over herself, but it's a good smelling plant in general and is maintaining a fairly decent height with my Mazari's too which are all indica. I hear The Church makes wonderful hash. Dynafem are cool, but frankly there are growers out there who are trying to get back to basics in strain making, redoing the old classics with better breeding. We have the technology.

On your church picture it looks like you topped the nugs that come out?

No, no the leaves get too big too fast and start covering up nugs, absorbing the light instead. So I pluck some off.

What about scrogging her? Any idea how she does with that. She's looking bushy for me.
Scrogging at this point would be a little late and awkward. From veg? Could be a pretty good idea actually.

Hey all I know it's been a short while but here are the pics, and I think you'll be quite pleased :weed:. I'm gonna let them fatten a bit more for another week or two and let the trichs amber :blsmoke:and that should make them about perfect. Can't wait to taste them now that I'm in the home stretch!! :joint:

Sorry to hear that Vumar. Each strain is different. Some are 8 weeks, others are 12....but a rule of thumb is when the hairs are 50% red and white. Also you want to look at the trichomes... I harvest when trichomes are at their biggest but still clear, before they turn opaque or amber. It makes for more of an 'up' high. Plants harvested later tend to give a couch-lock feeling, with all the cannabidiol overpowering the THC. It's up to you. If you want to sit there or go to sleep wait until most of the trics are amber...but don't wait to long as the trics will start to break down.
