The 99%- occupy movement- lacking focus and organisation!

so what? Does it mean if you are a 1%er that you are evil and do not deserve the money? Did every person who became successful steal and deceive others to get all their money?
Michael Moore was encouraging 99%ers to hate the 1%ers and to demand all of their hard earned money. I think that is funny because all of the protesters love Michael Moore even though he is the "evil" he was encouraging them to protest against. Michael Moore is a fool, the people following him as he hypocritically protests against rich people are even more foolish. It's comical.

I personally have nothing against people making more than 500k a year, especially considering it's these people that provide the vast majority of tax revenue and quite a bit of the employment.

We the people hereby demand
1. The immediate and unconditional orderly resignation of Barack Hussein Obama, II
2. The immediate and unconditional orderly resignation of Joseph R. Biden
/QUOTE]

WTF did Biden do? He's just a working class guy with no real power. You want Kagen and Sotomayor to resign but Clearance Thomas to stay? WTF screw that. While I don't like Hilary Clinton as a politician, she appears to be an excellent SOS. What "treasonous acts" did she commit?

Basically, what you are saying is that the OWS movement should all forget about what they are doing and join the tea party. No thank you.

Actually I think he was demanding they stop making money that they are not earning and pay a historically normal tax rate.

i did watch and listen to the video (TOO LONG) and it has good historical signifigance. But propaganda has been around since organized gov't. u had the female leader group the RED Faction in Germany too.:hump:

2nd. asking for the resiganation of those elected offials (i hate super-delegates, and electoral collge) is inappropiate. u need to be inside the bell curve
/ \
/ \
/ \
/ \
-------------------------------------------------------------the vote, sorry for the crude graph, but is in the middle. which also means the aggregate of America is also there. u want support then they need to focus w/ a clear concise, comprehensive list of common demands or grievences and prioritize these.
For example in occupy philly there is a man who is going on a hunger strike.....he wants marijuana legal and income inequality disappear.
i want marijuana legal too BUT IT'S NOT A PRIORITY! inequality will always be around.......what u wanna do is mitigate the dichotomy.:peace:

But that 'LIST' is fringe element bullshit that will not get fresh new support en masse. anarchist, socialist, communist (communism NEVER EXISITED! u saw socialism led by communist parties), and all the other fringe elements that are calling for radical change IS INPRACTICAL:oops:.

i these ideal college students, i was 1 i know, want to change the world- thats good. BUT U HAVE TO BE REALISTIC. if u want power....it's possible to work w/in the framework......look NO further then this man=both benito & adolf.jpg

the TEA-prty was successful b/c they were structured, had organization, yes they had their nonsense too w/ fringe elements and stupid statements like "keep your government hands off my medicare". thats retarded, but no more retarded then the OWS girl who was naked w/ a sign.

if u WANT TO CHANGE THE INTERIOR OF A HOUSE, U CAN'T DO IT FROM OUTSIDE, U HAVE TO GET IN THE HOUSE and that means going after ur respective municiple councilperson and ur bi-cameral STATE LEGISLATORS! u go get the city coucil voting records for free at city halls from the CLERK OF QUARTER SESSIONS. u can find out about their pac funding and all. PUT pressure on them not mis-direct it w/ going after~ JUST~ Wallstreet.

word to the wise= quotes are good but anyone can do it. truely understanding the essence of it is different.:peace:

best wishes.................................joey

p/s sorry about the graph i can't correct it BUT IF U CAN'T UNDERSTAND A BELL-CURVE then politics isn't for u LOL. I SHOULD HAVE COPIED & PASTED A GRAPH.

I liked how the leader of the 99%s for one of the protests was Michael Moore - A top tier 1%er worth 50 million. Funny funny misguided people.

Being worth 50 million is SOOOOOO FAR from the 1%, I'm sorry he's rich but not even close to the 1%, not by a long shot (I love how MM called out that reporter for reporting lies LOL), The 1% are barely the owners of football teams. In fact AMERICANS are about the 40% in terms of the worlds wealth!.........everyone who is into this 99% shit, needs to watch the film THE 1% by the johnson and johnson son.

The top 1% means you make more than $500,000 a year. Where are you getting your numbers?

Based on the Internal Revenue Service’s 2010 database below, here’s how much the top Americans make:
Top 1%: $380,354
Top 5%: $159,619
Top 10%: $113,799
Top 25%: $67,280
Top 50%: >$33,048

Watch the film THE 1%......Those numbers are propaganda and do not reflect the truth. I see specifically that $300,000+ ISN'T 1%. You Need BILLIONS to be a real 1%. It's similar to how they cook the books on inflation and unemployment.

Could you please post a link to this information? I want to believe it, but I'm pretty sure that those numbers are very very wrong.... the top 1% gets paid in the millions a year. If you make more than 500k that puts you in the top 30-40% if I remember correctly.

What do you mean by top 1%? Obviously not the top 1% of the population... So top 1% of what? Are you saying that less than 10,000 people constitute 1% of the population? Because I believe that the US has more than a million people...

Relax man watch the film! the top 1% as it's known is the 1% that control something like 97% of the world's wealth. Literally making them the people behind the scenes pulling strings.

Here is the original link - I read in Forbes earlier this week that its closer to 500k http://www.financialsamurai.com/2011/04/12/how-much-money-do-the-top-income-earners-make-percent/

Give me a second and I'll try and pull it up straight from the IRS. Most 1%s are struggling small business owners - they "make more than 400k" in reported taxes but most of that is tied up in inventory and the rest goes to the 40+% tax bracket + the additional 20+% business taxes or self employment taxes.

I love that so many people are mad yet don't even know who they are mad at. Habib my local gas station attendant works his ass off rotating between the 3 gas stations he owns. He spends his days cleaning toilets so that he can barely care for his immediate family and parents - He's the 1%... Prime example of a hard working American who is providing a bunch of jobs, tax revenue, still barely scraping by after sending his kids to college. And we want to discourage this? I'm confused...

We should also keep in mind that the top 1% contributes more taxes than the bottom 95% - so maybe its the bottom 95% that's not pulling their weight...

Let me find the IRS link.

Umm no the 1% are not struggling business owners. I'm sorry johnson&Johnson and GE and Microsoft or Apple are NOT struggling. Quit pushing propaganda!!! They want people to raise taxes on the 1% or the BS figures you post! meaning they want to raise taxes on everyone IN THOSE TAX BRACKETS!!!!! SO should it say tax the top 0.3%?!

Here's a great chart - Eh, chart vanished :( Over 60% of the top 1%s assets are in business equity/financial securities. Over 80% of the 95% are in personal stocks, and homes.

Look where the bottom 95% keep their money - Completely to themselves in their houses an personal assets.

Top 1% keep the majority of their wealth in business equity and financial securities - this means the money is helping others. Business equity = the rental cars, the restaurant buildings, the sky scrapers, the malls where you shop, the gas stations you frequent, the food on the shelves of your grocery store...

Here is the IRS link - http://www.irs.gov/taxstats/article/0,,id=102886,00.html

It was $380,000 for the top 1%

The millions of people are protesting to have the top 1% of americans to pay more... Not sure if that is what they are after but that is what is happening.

And just FYI - If you are going after the top 100 wealthiest people, and that's it, then blocking roads and having regular non top 100 wealthiest people loose their jobs isn't really going to make a difference. The top 100 wealthiest people like the owners of GE are definitely not the ones being hurt by the protests.

hahahhaaaa........................................ ..........that is SO SAD AND SOOOOO WRONG, i don't care if the CBO or OMB put those numbers out we all know the truth of the value of the dollar, adjusted for inflation, has decreased purchasing power. those numbers are waaaaaay off.

ask a family of 4 who makes $33,000 dollars if they are a pay check away from being homeless and poor! those numbers don't truley reflect the real numbers by the IRS.

top 1% is in the billions of net-worth. thats BLUE-BLOOD money dude. GOLDMANSACH'S >surrogate for OBAMA, worth $$$BILLIONS. KOCH BROTHERS> republican surrogate =worth $$$$$$BILLIONS.
MM is worth alot nothing compared to that. that is 999,999,999 rolled over 10x. Warren Buffet said those things b/c they were the right things to do and is fair.
so i guesss my family is in the top 25% since $70,000+ dollars...........WELL THATS WHAT OUR FAMILY MAKES- IM TELLING U= I AM NOT AT THE TOP 25%.

SO U AND THE IRS is wrong and ppl. know those figures are defined wrong- IT'S OLD HAT MY MAN!

chronic is right + a rep! my man, i might disagree, but u and i can agree to disagree. but GAS needs to be schooled in monetary, fiscal policy, and what income definitions really mean.

Wrong because you say so? I want numbers - how much are the top 1% really making? But more importantly where are you getting YOUR numbers?

If you have never traveled to a third world country then don't complain that you don't have enough money - and by the same virtue you better not complain when people have much more than you.

The internet is not a right, neither is youtube, or your computer, or phone, or AC/Heat, car, cable, television... You are extremely lucky for being a poor American that happens to have MUCH MUCH more than many many others. And guess how poor Americans have so much? Because people like Bill gates worked his ass off to bring in billions of dollars of foreign money to pay for your chilrens schools, your roads, your social security...

Its the rich that afford us poor the extravagant lives we live - just don't ever forget how extravagant a poor American's life is. And if you have no clue you need to travel and open your mind.

Btw - I'm poor. I accept no handouts and I make less than 20k a year, and I'm thankful.
