Greetings and salutations RIU members welcome to my journal. Lets dive straight in.

I am doing a DWC grow with TH Seeds Ultra Sour. I have 4 GH Waterfarms.

I have 2 GH air pumps.

I have a 14 gallon reservoir from GH.

I am using a Nextlight LED http://getnextlight.com/nextlight/

IMG_3307.JPG

I have an my air filter going directly outside.

IMG_3308.JPG

I am using Cyco platinum series nutrients.

IMG_3309.JPG

I have a lot of height grow space.

IMG_3305.JPG

I have topped the plants once already and they are about 3 weeks old from seed. Roots are starting to show.

IMG_3314.JPG

My ph is 5.5-6.0 on average and I never really check my ppm.

Ok so if you made it this far into my journal this is where I ask how do I maximize my height grow space? I don't have a lot of room width wise but my roof is 9 or 10 foot tall. Should I just keep topping them or what? I honestly don't know what to do and maybe I should be asking in the advanced section of RIU. Anyways this is the start and there will be plenty of pictures to come. I encourage you to post your DWC pictures and comments. Thank you all.

If you want to maximize your height grow space, you should look into vertical growing. There's a whole forum for it, but first thing I would say is get a hps light and hang it between the plants once they start to get bigger. This post has a similar set up to yours.

I checked out the vertical growing threads and right now its just not an option to hang a HPS like the link you posted. I think I am going to just veg for 2 months and try to get them as big as possible under the LED I have. It is very powerful and has great penetration. I appreciate the advice though. How did he get so many branches? Is that just a vertical growing thing or is it topping multiple times or what?

I'd love to see your setup, scrog is when you use nets right?

I didn't follow the actually grow, my guess would be a decent amount of veg time along with topping and training.

And to answer your other question Scrog is Screen of Green which uses a screen or net like you said to train the plants, as oppose to Sog (Sea of Green) which is just a ton of smaller plants with little ot not training involved. I always liked the sog style because there was less veg time but it generally requires you to have lots of plants, but Scrog is way more efficient.

So I topped two of the three plants 2 times and the one plant once becauase it seemed to be a slow grower. I plan on letting them veg for another month. I opened the two bigger ones up to get them the same height as the slow grower to even the canopy out. Any advice on what to do other than just wait for the ladies to grow would be awesome.

Oh and there are only three plants left, the one plants stem rotted and snapped in half. I also had a power outage last night that freaked me out this morning. The lights were off for 10 hours (4 hours over their regular time). not sure to reset the timer or put it back on schedule. If I put it back then it will only get 14 hours of light today. Is that enough to keep it from going into flower????????

T.H Seeds - UltraSour: Intense citrus flavour
If you're a friend for flavours of a sour nature, then you'll go crazy over T.H. Seeds feminized hybrid UltraSour. This tongue-tastic strain blends together MK Ultra with Sour D in a way which is not only potent but holds a substantial amount of medicinal character as well.

Bred with medicinal backbone, UltraSour manages to satisfy not only recreational users but also those who suffer from chronic pains, migraines, arthritis and a whole host of other ailments.

Perfectly content growing both indoors and out, UltraSour is a fairly tall plant growing to heights of around 150cm tall - so great if you have the space. These seeds also deliver high yields that ooze with thick, sticky resin for super-dank quality. Speaking of yields, you'll be pleased to know that UltraSour is 'UltraSweet' when it comes to harvest time. Under good conditions she is capable of producing in the region of 450-500g/m² - most definitely a sweet deal!

UltraSour is a strain brimming with power and yet, retains an exceptional smoothness all the same. Users keen to get their hands on a flavoursome hybrid with excellent harvesting potential should most definitely give UltraSour seeds a go.

Ok so I opened them up by bending the stems last time I posted. Here is the three ladies a week later, speaking of which its veg week 4 (28 days)

IMG_3335.JPG

They are about 19 inches tall.

IMG_3340.JPG

I think I am going to do a full 6 weeks vegging if my roots allow me.

IMG_3339.JPG

I think they look healthy, minus a burnt tip or two.

IMG_3337.JPG

IMG_3338.JPG

All in all I think I am doing ok, this is only my 5th or 6th grow and I failed using soil. I hope these girls start growing taller because I would like a monster plant or two. Does longer veg yield more? Cause bigger colas? Should I just flip now and let them go? What is your opinion RIU on what I should do with these plants. I am a newbie at growing still.

are you going to clone them?
I could clone them but my clone would have to be moved to a different location. I'm probably just going to get more seeds and try New strains. Any advice on what strain I should do next?
