TGA Subcool Vortex Smoke Report

I think I'm gonna try growing just about everything TGA has....that's why I can't seem to ever settle on one plant to grow over and over....I love variety and TGA seeds definitely have variety. Got some Pandora's Box coming up soon that looks and smells GREAT. Just started flowering The Flav as well. I agree that DNA is badass as well. I'm doing some cataract kush by them right now as well.

i want to try A13 vortex the most. it sounds like something along the lines of a good apollo 13 genius buzz and mosca is still out of his genius strains. if TGA himself calls one of his strains his favorite in the world, i want to at least try that. i like cinderelly well enough on the fast flowering strains that don't KO you front, but it's all energy and clearheaded euphoric motivation like kali mist. a mre psychoactive buzz with a more neutral energy profile is better all around.

jillybean sounds too stony to me. it's a lot of people's favorite, but the A13 vortex sounds more upbeat. if anything, i'd say the description for jack's cleaner 2 undersold how fun & trippy that strain is. i trust the other descriptions to be accurate.

if i ever do a grow just for flavor, i really want to try plushberry too.

i don't know about TGA's "tastes" in odors though... rotting gerber poo? really? maybe i don't want to try his cooking. that's the kinda dude that eats brussel sprouts i bet!

haha the man loves strains that smell to high heaven. I emailed him once asking him which strain to get if I was worried about smell and he emailed me back saying that every strain in his catalog was selected to be smelly but that the least smelly one is probably Jillybean. I wish i had a huge grow space to grow every one of his strains to see which one i liked best, but i guess doing one or two at a time will eventually get me there :)

jack's cleaner 2 wasn't smelly in my room. sour cream and skunk masterkush were, just a little, but i didn't need odor control. i think colder temps bring out the funk in some if not all strains too though. i'd imagine his 75% romulan at least to have some degree of odor

Yeah smells dont really come out until DEEP into flowering, since you've never made it deep into flowering you've never seen what MJ smells like. But, by all means give us a grow and smoke report on your shit you cut down 3 weeks into flowering.

lol, well to tell you the truth his Third Dimension strain didn't smell too bad during flowering even right up at 8 weeks...it was masked in odor by this Vortex strain lol. I know one thing for sure out of the 3 TGA strains i've harvested so far, Qrazy Train is the smelliest in late flowering....even in cold temps that thing stunk up my grow room, lol

Strange. One of Vortex's known downsides is it's reported to be a light yielder. Though I did read another post today on a different thread that reported a good yield off a relatively small Vortex plant. I've been teetering on running some behind the QT I got goin' now. And I think the scale's finally tiped enough for me and I'm gonna' put in an order with the Tude. The Vortex high sounds right up my alley. Energizer Bunny high! That's the ticket.

Edit: This is an excerpt from a description of the strain straight from Subcool himself. But I'll still be making that order-

"...This Vortex Phenotype is not a huge yielder, and will not win any beauty contests that’s for sure but for someone who has a connoisseur palette the genetic makeup of Vortex makes for some mighty stony, awfully tasty herb, Peace and keep well..."

Vortex is a small plant with a medium yield. My have always only grown 2x during flowering. Smells like concentrated lemons. No poo smell in my pheno. I thought that was the more sought after one that everyone looks for though. Very energetic and thought racing buzz. Good for getting things done. Great overall.

Yea you must have gotten a different pheno.....i myself grew from just a single pick and mix seed, so I'm clueless to all of the phenotypes Vortex shows. But mine was definitely a big plant.

i always get 10 packs for whatever reason i rarely get 5 packs since i've had 1:5 ratio's before on 5 packs and 6:10 ratio's on 10 packs.
even 10:10 males is a possibility, though very unlikely. i saw someone in another forum go apeshit over getting a 1:32 5 pack of males. it happens. i usually like to pop 4 beans to get an 87.5% chance of at least 1 female, but just bought 3 JC2 singles for 75% odds. it gets expensive when you're sampling a bunch of strains.

i tell you though, when the first 4 out of 5 malawi golds i popped were all male, i was really stressing over the last one that turned out to be a female.

And then you killed it to.
Didnt stop you from giving "grow" and "smoke" reports on it though...

no kidding right? lol I've gone through about 14-16 pick and mix seeds from TGA and they have all been female....definitely knocking on wood. I actually am growing out 2 very nice female Qrazy Trains now both of which i took clones....and also got a newly determined female Querkle as well :) Gotta get a bit more variety going here soon, so I'm sure I'll pop either agent orange or pandoras box

the Pandora's box is better than Agent Orange on most accounts besides yield. good luck on those QT, i have chernobyl(shares Bloodwreck mom) and i have 3 purple BW dom phenotypes and 2 JTR dom plants and 2 that are 50/50 from both parents, the 50/50 gals are what you want, smell like lime-watermellon jolly ranchers and pack on the trichs from early flower up until the end.

I've grown pandoras box once before but she was in some really bad compact soil which really hurt the growth and yield of her....but it was some A+ smoke....possibly better than the Vortex in this smoke report...just like i said really crappy yield due to poor soil quality, but she is definitely a contender in the hunt for my next strain to grow
