Testing Facilities

Hello :

I was was just reading a magazine discussing testing and I wondered if such a facility even exists in Canada? I watched a program on TV where a guy walked into a lab like he was walking into a corner store, handed the guy a quantity of mj and 20 mins later the guy knew he had a 22% product. Will we be able to do that one day? Is this what HC wants LP's to subject ALL there stuff to? Looks interesting to a lab rat like me.

I don't think this is what the OP had in mind. These are all reputable labs which would not attempt to let you walk in, then out, inside of 20' with an imprecise number. Twenty minutes is barely enough time to process the intake paperwork, let alone prep the sample and get the assay up and running and calibrated. A proper analysis would take at least half a day. Any number you get inside of 20' is not what Health Canada has in mind when they talk about validated assays. I would also worry about a lab that has such a small sample queue that it is waiting for someone to walk through the door with a sample. I think the OP is talking about those GC-in-a-suitcase guys. Think of them as semi-quantitative at best because they generate numbers without doing the usual system suitability runs. Better than guessing, but not high-quality work.
