Guys, it'll be due time for me to get a 4x8 tent here within a month or two, along with a 32x18 that will be inside of it for my veg room. (Venting into 4x8 from a window for fresh air)
I've looked at eBay and Amazon COUNTLESS times and just wanted some feedback on what you guys are using? My DIY fixture is quite heavy and for that reason I'd only feel comfortable with all steel connectors and sock style vent holes WITH cinching drawstring is a MUST have in my book.
I know gorilla is the way to go, but I can't spend that much.light leaks won't be a problem really besides on the smaller one, but I can tackle that with some foil tape. No biggy.

I'd appreciate some ideas, thanks.

I'd actually recommend avoiding gorilla tents... Over priced junk. I had to drill out 3 of the corner pieces and two of the vertical support bars for the dimple with the one I purchased.

Use the 'price+shipping, lowest first' option and scroll until you see the first tent with the appropriate dimensions and features. The cheap tents are surprisingly nice these days. Apollo horticulture actually imports a nice tent, but there are sometimes cheaper options.

I've seen those. Purple trim. I was actually thinking that or a lighthouse hydro tent. The problem though, is the pictures they use to advertise them are misleading sometime's an show a cinch sock but then the reviews have everyone saying they're not like that. So I just was wondering how people have liked their tents and if they know ones that have what I'm looking form

Poles are steel corners plastic, bad word but they work. Never an insecure moment or bent poles or anything really. Only kind I ever had. I am reporting they have endured and functioned well. Got the gl80L because of the size. No others quite the same dimensions. They also include spare corner.

Growlab is really too expensive. I either want the quictentII, Bay Hydro Green poles, apollo, or lightbouse.

The ones by yescom, ledwholesalers, aviditi, ipower and other off brands I think I should stay away from.

Too expensive?

Idk, I paid 140 for a GL60 and I think it's worth every penny.

Assembly was super easy. All the supports are metal. The secure snaps that go on the end of the poles are solid and fit very tight. They're not going to go anywhere.

The mylar covering is very thick and durable. Same goes for all the zippers. All the zippers are heavy duty. They're not going to rip or be pulled off.

Aesthetically, they're solid black. There's no purple racing stripes or silly coloring themes. Solid black. Something I prefer over anything colored.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with growlab. They're quality built and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I'm using a lighthouse max. Small light leaks on the rounded parts of the zipper. But loads of vents and velcro holes, drawstring vent holes and all steel frame with metal corners

What about building a frame out of 2x4's then covering with...

with some caulking/sealing on the joints. could be less than 100$ truthfully. And could hold up anything you could think of.

Don't stop the DIY at the light.
Because I want to be able to get to my rdwc under scrog. Its so hard to change my water right now with 3 walls. The tents open up in so many different ways that allow me access from any angle. Tent is necessary, and $100 or $175-200 Isnt a huge jump ;)
