I'm a General HYdro 3 part guy. but honestly I think it's all the same shit. Basic chemical salts and 99.9% water in similar proportions. I was advised to use GH 3 part in the beginning, definitely one of the more popular brands, and it worked so I stuck with it. But there are people who just buy the salts, and mix their own shit in their basement, which is all the chemical companies are doing and selling it with a label. If you use any of the major brands you will be fine.

I've used Technaflora R.F.S. in soil with good results. Just follow thier recipe and start out with 1/4 dose and work up. I never got above 3/4 without seeing nute burn. The Thrive Alive Green and Red are basically the same thing,(green's organic, red isn't) so if you run out of one, you can use the other. If you buy the kit, depending on how many gallons you mix up and how long your grow lasts, you'll probably need to buy more Sugar Daddy. Also, the recipe says to keep your ph at 5.8-6.2 for soil, but I found it was better to keep it at 6.5-7.
Happy Growing.
