My TDS meter has gone belly-up. Anyone got a favorite that does EC & ppm but doesn't break the bank?
I agree that once you get a feel for your nutes, you automatically know where the EC is going to end up. I get in trouble when I try new ingredients in nutrient teas. Always messes with EC and PH...I bought one from fleabay. $35ish. Worked for 3 years. I could get off my arse and look if you like china junk. I check Cal with solution once in a while and have never had to to adjust it yet. ymmv I use promix so it's not that critical. I like a stir stick also for the 5 quart jugs. It reads EC but not as accurate as the .1 resolution unit I have but it works just as well in my opinion. I have 2. But to be honest I don't use them much anymore as I am better at knowing x amount in a gallon of ro water gives me the EC I need. As long as I don't change anything I don't use the EC meter anymore. I read the plant and run an EC of ~ .8 and add or remove amounts as needed. Promix only. pH I like ~6.2 to 6.4.
I'm just a jrpeters guy. Kiss. Less is more as well. Calmag and patience. You are way past me. Maybe some day I can learn that way.I agree that once you get a feel for your nutes, you automatically know where the EC is going to end up. Meh, I just like to tinker. I've tried a lot of things but only a few make any real difference.I'm just a jrpeters guy. Kiss. Less is more as well. Calmag and patience. You are way past me. Maybe some day I can learn that way.
