T5 ???

I am currently looking to start a veg tent. 2x4x7 and I know I really don't wanna go the HID way for lighting. I allready have two 1000 watt HPS lights in a room. So I'm looking for something that will run less electric and less heat. So my ?? Is about the t5s. I used two t5 bulbs just for seedlings but nothing else. There is a t5 set on amazon that is 4ft long 4 bulbs. Do you think this would be efficient for that size tent. I'm hoping to veg and clone in this same tent if possible. I know everyone will ask how many plants I plan on putting in this and well. I'd put as many as I can fit. Any info is appreciated.

I used an 8 bulb Bad Boy for a couple years.

If you scrog you can get a nice result through harvest, but it depends on your flowering bulb choices

ZooMed FloraSuns are good

T5 works fine. IMO hids seem to be faster more robust plants. Cost vs. production? I think is minimal, t5's and cfl's will get the job done especially if heat is an issue.

I got a single bag seed going under 2 13watt cfls. I know I'm going to need more soon but it's working great got now.

I would go with leds over t5s any day. Especially the cxa3070 you can run them in veg and also in flower if you want and they stay cool and are the most efficient.

I fully agree with others.
It just seems to me, that an 8bulb T5, and a 2X4 tent, are a perfect match IMO.
I have a setup like this, and it def comes in handy;-)
I use it for the first couple weeks of veg, then onto my 600w MH's. I grow trees usually.
I also fully veg plants for other type setups with that combo. A couple friends do also.
