In a few months, mine will be the best... ha. Well, that does not do much for you now.

The light you have, Horti Powerveg UV, is the only UV lamp that I have seen so far that is marketed as a grow light. There are some bulbs that are marketed for terrariums... turns out lizards need UVB to produce vitamin D3 just as humans do.

The first step is to get yourself a UV Index meter. This way you don't have to guess like a blind man that can't see UVB. Then you can adjust you lamps accordingly.
If you look at the reptisun 5.0 spectrum it's nearly identical to the power veg. I thought that was interesting.

Your probably right... it is just a lizard lamp... and with a little holy water... renamed to grow light. That happens a lot... I have fully tested three different CFL lamps labeled "grow lights" and all they are is standard bulbs that have been relabels. Same with HPS and MH, most are just street lamps that have been christened "grow light".

Everything was going smoothly until my light hanger somehow slipped on half the girls and did some major damage. I just topped the burnt stuff and let them go. We'll see. The oldest girls are exceeding my expectations by a wide margin. T5 lights grow pretty plants. Growth rates are exeptional as well. Bottom and top buds are very even. Oldest girls from day 25 small ones day 15. They are under 4 PV and 4 PB. Youngest under 4 each PP and PB. Trichome development is good with many bulbous type. Become cloudy almost immediately?

I must confess that t5 lights kick ass. They are growing very nice plants with very manageable heat and the light distribution is very even. These are day 29.image.jpg
