Switchable Ballast

Does a switchable ballast mean I can run either a HPS or a MH or does it only mean that It switches voltages?

Yes Switchable ballast means you can run either HPS or MH bulbs. Multi-volt means you can switch between multiple voltages like 120 or 240 volt. When buying a light think versatility. Will I use this light in other rooms later on. Switchable / multi volt lights are the way to go. They only cost a little more but they are worth it. Don't forget about your amperage. Wattage divided by voltage = amperage
