Switch from SE HPS to HLG 650r

Please forgive me if this specific question has been addressed elsewhere. I did search.

I'm operating in a space that's 8'x13.7' and have been doing very well with four 1000w SE HPS lights.
I just purchased 4 HLG 650r, but I notice the recommended coverage for flower is 5'x5'. Seeing as I'd be more like 5'x6.85', I'm a little concerned I may be undershooting. What do you think, bearing in mind my 4 SE HPS lights have been sufficient thus far? I appreciate your time.

I think you will be fine. The HLG 650 is intended to replace a 1000w. Technically you are under lit for your HPS as well so it shouldn’t be a big deal.

Using the 50w per sq ft for HID your 5x7 should technically have 1750w, and LED is usually at least 30w per sq ft which would be 1050w. Maybe add another 320w fixture above each 5x7 if you want optimal lighting.

Thank you, that's more or less what I was thinking.

That's a great start. If you want more light later you can always add a couple more. Remember to use code "RIU10" though.
