Sweet made solution toxic.

So my friend tossed a little Sweet Citrus in his DWC today only to come back a couple hours later and find noticeable leaf burn. Before the Sweet the solution had an EC of around 1.7 and after it shot up to around 2.1.

Evidently if one wants to use this product it should replace standard nutrients and not be used in conjunction. This was a mild dose too.

The situation has been addressed by the addition of plain PH corrected water - it will be interesting to see if the condition subsides. Otherwise he is looking at either a major solution change or a somewhat early harvest.

Well, the condition seems to has subsided although I'm wondering if the dilution is causing another nutrient defficiancy not yet seen.

I've advised my friend not to screw around with additives and just to stick to the basic nutrient formulas. Everything was going beautiful up until the addition of the Sweet. I've also found that DWC while awesome for many reasons, are not good to experiment with unless you have a massive, on site RO machine and the time and energy to change out 200gal of nutrrient solution.

From now on I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.
