Suspend growth..

Hey everyone, I got maybe a weird question and figured this would be the place to ask it.
Is there a way to sort of suspend the growth of a few girls in veg for about 10 days without stressing them out to much? Or at least get them to drink less for that amount of time? I have a 10 day trip for work that I can't skip out on and have very limited help with my girls. I have one friend that can only drive out to my place twice in that ten days and unfortunately my girls dry up in about 2 days. I was thinking about up caning them into 10gals from the 5gals they are in right now so they could hold more water and hopefully last longer than 2 days.

Any thoughts short of an auto feeder?

Go to a feed store and get the bulb thing that holds water and puts into soil as the soil dries it gives water. Put a fee in there and let it be

The safer bet would be to repot and give a heavy drink till your friend shows up. Make sure you give instructions to give the same amount depending on how the soil looks when they get there to water. More/less. Put your fans on low, raise the light a bit. GL

Under fluorescent their growth should slow right down, same with water consumption.

Get a D-Link or other "IP" camera, then you can look at them via your phone, and know when is best to send in your limited help.

Get some self watering spikes. They're spikes with tubes attached that you run to a container or water res. Pretty much they slowly siphon water out. Down to the spike and into your soil. I'd post s link but laptop is on thrr Fritz right now and I'm onn a mobile. Upcan though for sure. You may be able to find the spikes at a garden center. I acctually discovered em in a thead here on RIU.

Cut light back and repot. Those 10 gallon pots should hold enough water for two visits. The plants will concentrate on root growth with the repot so above pot growth will slow anyways.

Thanks for tips folks, it's greatly appreciated. Plan is upcanning to the 10gals, turn down the lights and am also gonna shut off my intake fan. Less fresh co2 rich outside air should help slow me down as well. Will obviously leave the tent open for passive intake.

I agree with Snaps.

You're going to have to watch for molds, and since you won't be around I just wouldn't do. Ventilation is super important, you're asking for issues shutting it off, especially if you get a really warm day outside.

10 days isn't that long man, re-pot them like you're going to water em good. You shouldn't have issues I don't think.
