I'm just telling it the way I was told from an AN rep....don't believe me call and ask. if you used ph perfect with cal mag and had no issues I'd like to know what brand you used.
If a little Calcium Nitrate and Epsom alts can fuck with the ph of PH perfect, something is wrong there. How big are your pots. 1-2 gal pots should be dry by the the second day after you water 3-5 gal pots should be about 3 and 7 gal pots about 4 days or less. If its not you're either over watering or you media is holding the water.

I think my biggest issue is my pots are taking too long to dry out 5-7 days sometimes when it should be more like 2-4 days. On the next round I've added more purlite and so far so good. Can't let all the salts build up in the soil.
5-7 is fine depending on the size of the plant and pot and how aerated your media is. Salt build up shouldnt be an issue so long as your arent feeding them nutes every watering. Ive used CalMag with AN 3 part and had no issues. If youre using coco, the Sensi coco line from AN has CalMag added to it since plants in coco seem to need it more. Otherwise you can totally use CalMag.

I'm using 7 gal smart pots. I think my soil (pro mix) is holding on to the water. My temps never go above 80 and the humidity usually Around 40-55%. I even have a fan blowing directly on the pots as well as two above on the canopy. I built a table so all the run off flows away from the pots and into a container.

I never water until the pots feel light enough ( lift test ) I some times even use a moisture gague. When I water I do it till I get some run off then stop. Fir the 7 gallon pots that's about 10 -11 litres.

Even my new seedlings about 5 weeks in veg. There in 1 gallons(black plastic ) till I can sex them and there taking about 4-5 days before they need water. I've been hitting them with a cal mag spray a few times a week about an hour b4 lights on and they haven shown any calmag issues yet.

Moving forward I'm gonna try adding an extra 25% pirlite to my soil and see how that goes. I initially stated feeding every other water but sense it was taking so long for the pots to dry out the plants would look like they where starving by time the next feed came around. So I used the AN rep advice and just tried to make sure I had some good run off. Ideally I would like to go back to feeding every other water...,wich I'm doing with my next round....in the pic left Cindy 99x sweet skunk. I use 2ml per litre of AN sensi calmag, 2ml per litre of iguana juice bloom and 2ml per litre of AN Mother Earth organic tea plants seem to love it and it's all certified organic :blsmoke:with ro water
Dumb question but do you need to worry about your water ph using those products. One of the biggest reasons I'm looking into living soil is so to avoid all the ph testing and what not.

pots are way to big for your plants at their size...
over watering and the issue you have are simple to see.

So those one gallon pots are two big for plants that are going on 5 weeks old ? Should I be using half gallon ? At how many weeks would you recommend moving to 1 gallon?

pot up as you go and you wont have any issues,,,,
there would be two pots before the one gallon over those five weeks.
Just make sure your roots mass has filled the entire pot before moving up.

They where in a dixie cup first until they got fairly root bound then moved to the one gallon....my understanding is that when you traspant into a larger pot you should only water as far out as the plant leafs stretch over the pot....cause that's as far as the roots go in the soil....so moving forward I should be potting up one gallon size at a time? 1-2 then 2-3 and so on?

a Dixie cup to one gallon is a huge jump and over watering can happen in soil!
the roots should look like this in each pot before potting up....
Thanks fer the tips.

Is that a pic from your garden ? Love to see what you got going on in the flower room:weed:

glad to see im not the only one going this route like brewery said look into the no till threads on IC and GC clack is a wizard and your pot size seems fine for super soil/no till IMO. i'm going to go from cups to 10 gallon fabric pots most likely. Just waiting on HC to stop fucking around and finish my paper work. Got my soil mixed up and in their pots with a cover crop sprouting and added worms in each pot getting things ready. have only used EM1 so far but i will be making my own LABS(lactic acid bacteria serum) and collecting some IMO (indigenous micro organisms) as far as inoculants go(korean natural farming). A good portion of my mix is pre made based on clacks mix cut with 1/3 base mix of compost/rice hulls/ peat moss.

Have you tried White widow with this configuration? I use 1ml/L of calimagic by GH per the directions but maybe I need to double it.

Ya, I thought of myself as having green thumb .I remember when I first started growing outdoor when I was around 18ish every year got better and better...really got my system down. But then didn't grow for about 15 years up until now. I figured my green thumb would carry over to my indoor garden. Well not really haha. I've had a lot of issues to say the least. I figur I was lucky to have my past experience to help me even harvest anything half ass decent. and thank god for the internet. I've be doing so much reading on growing over the last 18 months. But I'm so interested in learning more. It's truly an amazing experience to grow your own medicine...hope you get back to it soon :bigjoint:
