Superponics (Supercloset) grow issues HELP NEEDED

I'm hopeful that we can begin a category for Superponics, Supercloset, and other turnkey automated grow systems and the problems that arise with them specifically.

I've tried to find the info I need, but honestly, it takes so long to read through everything and what I am finding doesn't seem specific to my needs. I'm spinning wheels and wasting time. Time is money.

I have no idea how to start a sub-category forum, but if someone know how to, or a person of higher authority has to, I would beg of you to add a category for Superponics, which is a blend of hydro and aeroponics, definitely worthy of its own category due to its delicate nature.

Superponics is defined as the "Fusion of Hydroponic Technologies" that combines mixtures of ebb n flow, top feed, bubble, aeroponics, and DWC all into one plug and grow, automated system.

I have several issues that came to light today. I am day 15 from seed. I need help with the following issues:

brown slimy roots - possibly

yellowing curling leaves

good looking green leaves, but slight curling upward by the stem area

This is a link to my journal entry for today, it has more specific details and pics:
https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/blog14463-seed-1-day-15-help.html

Nute info for seedlings differs so much from system to system, add to that the fact that this system is a blend, stands to reason different way of addressing the issues.

If anyone is experienced in the Superponics or Supercloset grow systems, and their various issues, please jump in and help out.

I asked a few questions within Trinity specific threads/journals (really a thread they call journal) and was told that I was hijacking the journal. Fucking ridiculous, but I'm not going to argue with them. Came across like the condo commandos that demand HOA rules be followed to the T.

If you can offer some help and experience, much appreciated!!

Thank you

:peace:

Does the brown stuff on the roots stink? If not it may just be staining from additives/nutrients. Smells like rotten eggs then its root rot.

Hey man I am not sure if your organic or not but IMO if not I would look at using some zone in your res in the future and treating the root zone with some H202 at 1.5 strength recommended for regular usage. Once you get your root problems under control with the H2O2 then switch to zone and you should be good. Obviously your also going to want to work on temperature issues and I recommend not top feeding anything at least 1 hour before lights out. Those two things alone may prevent future problems. YMMV also I am not familiar with your system. Good luck and happy growing.

Thanks to you both.

Kush, good tip about not feed and hour before lights out. I'm going to post your post in my journal so that I remember, thanks!! And what does YMMV mean?

I woke up today with the rockwool turning brown. Headed to my local hydro store. Guy was so helpful. Here I was thinking I might need to scrap my girls, start again nice and clean, he said it wouldn't be an issue and hooked me up with some stuff.

I feel very confident this will be the end of this specific issue because now I am certain of what created it. Originally, I thought it had to do with the nutes since as soon as I added them to the picture, this all started. Showed him pics of my girls and the rockwool, he asked if they were sitting in water, I said no, but that I had just changed the water and added mild nutes and that the water was back up to just under the net pots. Bingo!! I had filled the rez too high. Told me to add the following and that once the rockwool dried I wouldn't have a problem anymore
I dropped the h2o level down to about 3/4" away from the net pots.

AquaShield by Botanicare (3 ml/gallon for small, 7ml/large)

Sensizym (1 ml/gal for 1st week, 2 ml/gal after)

Rapid Start by General Hydroponics (1 tsp per 5 gallon, think he said 1.5 strength, but need to verify, only did 1 tsp)

Hey I am harvesting my first crop now. It has been a nightmare with the superstar led 3.0 superset is worming with me and I am getting a 2 x 4 gorilla tent and there dwc reservoir 16 site system. I suggest in my opinion going with a tent system where you can have an inline fan. The reason the cabinets suckered is because they use lm2 little cpu fans. I can send you pictures of what I have I have had to buy a 10 000 bt ac unit and dehumidifier because once your plants get half way the humidity is uncontrollableso I ended up having to remove the carbon filters and a home bunch of different things to get things controllable

If you have the money check out growboxusa.com bit I suggest picking a gorilla tent that suits your size. Height adjustment is awesome e if you make a mistake and flower to late. And I have now used Mars hydro 300 kind 300 and a platinum led p150. And I'm going good to get the next level platinum p400. What a great light and has way more reds for flowering. I can send pics of all. And platinum led is built like a tank with 5 year warranty. And a 6 inch inline fan with carbon filter I have a secret Jardin 3 chambers tent bring I wish I went with gorilla secret Jardin is great but gorilla is the best. I have my fan on a tv2 controller which adjusts fans peed to control temperature. And I have a digital humidity sensor hookedup to either a humidifier or dehumidifierdepending on WHT I need. Digital timers for my grows now. I accidently hit a 15 minute tab some time in flower so I have no idea what kind of issues that caused shit tier buds lol.

And what do you plan on doing. Soiless coco seems to be easier way to go but I am rocking top feed and dwc supercloset. But these 8 spot reservoir are way to small and I have issues. I don't even use there supercloner because I get brown leaves a little. And when I use Rockwood and a tray and doom I have happy ladies

You use more power with dwc or top feed and you definitely need backup equipment because if you wait a few days on parts your screwed. So I always check my airstones to make sure. And top feed you can check every few days but I get in a habit of checking every day.

Hit me with any questions you have. I got screwed because I picked the wrong setup and it cost me 3500. And I have a way better setup for roughly this. Secret Jardin tent was 380
Inline blower 129
Carbon Virginia filter 100
Led kind light is around day 800 but I am switching over platinum which is cheaper and better warranty with veg and bloom switches
And then you can build your own dwc or top feed or combined system for pretty cheap depending on how you design it. I designed mine so I can do reservoir changes in a breeze. And easy checks on equipment and safeties. If you have half inch line to empty reservoirs with a pumore and that pump runs your top feed system always make sure to get a rubber ugh or run that line back to the reservoir. I just came home the other day and my tip feed turned on and a valve got hit and emptied 8 litres into my tent. Rubber plugs or diverted Bck to reservoir will stop that costly mistake. And I have tiny reservoir. Imagine a 100 liter going over in an upstairs apartment shitty

I have a Superponics supercloset 1000 x 4 leds 52 plant site .. This is my first indoor grow of this size with hydro ... Have had some headaches and have had to add a few things to help keep things functioning properly and healthy . I have added a 10,000 btu window air conditioner a water chiller to keep the water temp down to 68* degrees ,for even with the leds my water temps were pushing 80 +.. had to add dehumidifier to keep that humidity down but the important thing is i have not had any issues with the plants them selves have added some pics taken this morning just going to be switching over to flowering this coming weekend plants are 1 month into grow and have four different strains of : Girl scout cookies : Northern lights big bud : Cronic thunder & Pineapple express If anyone has any questions if i can help in any way i am more then willing to share with you what ive learned so far .. thanks and happy growing to all
