Good budz peeps! Yeah I'm still going but barely have time to water them much less journal anything lol. I will have something to share sooner or later though :) Good to see the thread still going a bit and glad to see you're both still cranking dank.

Not sure on date u over there then like a see the lads see if we can sort it for the 20th
Not sure yet myself, I think there's some protest going on the 20th which I like to join but don't know yet if I can go the 20th. Keep me posted on date I will do the same.

Hey Shwag remember when we talked about homebreeding in my older journal thread?
Homegrown tastes better than anything I bought, homemade soup tastes better than most commercial soup too, mixing your own fruit juice usually tastes better than something pre-mixed from a bottle right? Will homebred be any different? Let's find out.
Still a year or two to go, but so far, 6 months later I got thousands of seeds, most come out like this:
<--nameless
<-ICE Haze

Currently looking for females for next round from which I will select one or more for the next generation of seeds.

A little topping-cropping experiment, just playing, 3inch tall bonsai, and yes that's frost :D

looking nice sativied, my self has just ended up with loads pips from 3 plants but am worried they will be hermie like the pollen of the 1 that got them? i have 12 cuts like for next round a should be up and running by next weekend, 8 my clones have rooted just waiting on other 4 and my tent to arrive then i will be good to start setting up

I'd be worried too if it's pollen from a stress hermie. If you know what caused it to stress into hermie and can prevent that next time it might be worth a try but yeah tricky.

Mine are from a regular male, I grew out a few males and selected one that had frosty balls and 4 sets of leaves every internode. Newer pic of the frosty seedling above (ICE Haze):

Male is cannalope haze, sisters of the clones I got in flower closet now.

I switched from H&G almost complete line to just H&G Hydro A+B and GHE Bloom to reduce the N. No huge tall stretched plants this time, no dark green. A bit too light for my taste but I use far less nutes now (only 480ppm) and the buds are doing great.

Crazy looking seedlings! Man that's crazy only 480 ppm is pushing those beautifully. You plan on amping them up in the next week or two?

I'm really excited about the frosty seedlings, I created literally thousands of seeds (1 frosty quadcot male and 4 different mom strains) so I'd have enough to search for gems - so far it's been easy picking. 12 frosty seedlings, 2 freaks and 1 non-frosty.

Probably not, want to ride it out on 500-ish see how that goes. I'm rather convinced it's better than my previous approaches. First rounds I set ppm slightly higher than sweetspot so ph drops and ppm rises overnight, allowing me to top off with water only, and later I tried staying slightly below it. An advantage of less nutrients is a higher water uptake, which in turn means increased nutrient uptake (but of lower ppm, sort of evens out). Additionally it's easier on the roots, I use no Root Excel anymore, no Cannazy anymore, no bleach/h202, yet my roots are whiter than ever. More healthy roots is better nutrient uptake. Only downside is that I have to add a cap of nutes and a few drops of ph -/+ every day or two (else it drops from 480 to below 450). It's funny because I now got 2-week old seedlings on almost the same nute level as the ones in peak flowering :)

The balance/ratio of the nutrient elements is much more important than the level itself and by topping off with water+fresh nutes more often it ensures there's enough of everything. Sort of makes me considering creating a drain-to-waste system rather than recirculating.

If time allows I may try some boosters or shooters on half the plants, I could hook that tube with 3 plants up to a separate rez, same nutrients but with additives, probably H&G shooting powder, would be a nice clean side-by-side test.

@budolskie: looking nice and healthy man, good luck with the tent.

LIKE!

That's awesome that you can feed them in lower doses like that and still have incredibly happy plants.

Unless I find a booster/shooter/hardener that clearly works (as in myself doing a side by side with clones) I think I will stick to this approach for at least a few rounds. The strain I'm growing now ,cannalope haze, is fast (8weeks, 9 including transition) but not a huge yielder, could be interesting to see the difference, if any at all. The moms of the clones I'm flowering now were in hempy last round:

Just as in my tubes previous rounds quite a bit of stretch:

Currently only half the size :D

My schedule is pretty much 450-500 from start (seedling/clone) to finish, but with less N / more PK during transition and flowering than during veg. During the last week or two I top off with water only, basically letting it lower from 450 to 250-ish (my tap water is already 200, so I only add 250-300ppm nutes).

That all said, I don't actually give the less nutes, I just give them less at the same time and instead add nutes every one or two days. Starting week 5 12/12 now and have not used a single drop of PH up yet.

Start 12-12:

Now start week5 (so after only a month 12/12). Had to remove the ones in hempy to make space. Only the 6 in tubes are still in the closet.

This is on 4x4' by the way, previous runs before the last seed run were on 3x4' so even though it's not a huge yielding strain, I think it will be a decent harvest. Still 4-5 weeks to go. Low on stash so looking forward to it. :joint:

Nice dude, real nice! That's a fast haze hybrid. You gotta love that, I'm sure the smoke is great. I love anything haze, but it usually stretches the flowering times out a bit. Have you ever tried C99? I think your style would CRUSH it!

Yeah many haze hybrids that are based on Original Haze tend to have a long flowering time, this one is crossed with a mexican sativa first rather than trying to short the o haze 12-16 weeks and its length with indicas or hybrids, yet it resulted in what DNA genetics refers to as an 8week wonder. It won the breeders cup several years ago and is very suitable to create a haze cross without having to breed out the long flowering period of O Haze (or SSH).

@budolski: nice, will check it out and sub in a bit.

Ok, this update comes with background music

Same bud as in previous posts. I just love them slender fingers :leaf:

Fan on bottom of trichs, needless to say this strain works well for BHO

5 weeks and a couple of days 12/12, 3 weeks to go. Harvest after roughly 60 days, so almost 9 weeks last round, but these are mature clones and transitioned very fast so we'll see :)

The Great Wall of Weed:

Should expand most the next couple of weeks so I think it'll be a good run :D

And yes, still on 460-480ppm. Not going to use any boosters either. I got a bottle of Ripen with the GHE trial pack which I may use a little to bump the P and K even more similar to how I'm using GHE Bloom on top of H&G A+B now.

Edit: the Gavita Tripplestar hood seems to work as promised, actually, the fattest buds are in the corners... Anyway, seems to be doing a good job spreading the light uniformly on 4x4.
