Supercritical CO2 extraction

Anyone familiar with this method or the equipment necessary to do it. I'm looking at equipment, but there's a bunch and I really first just want to get a general understanding of how this method works. Also if you know of any specific equipment models or sites to purchase equipment, I'd appreciate it. So far I've only come across set-ups costing $35k+. I've heard there are set-ups that cost $10-$20k, but couldn't find any of these.

Really any info you have or links to credible articles is what I'm looking for. Thanks

Either vessel costs $5k. Made for club owners in mind, the unit can upgrade to fully automated starting at $2k more, a 60:1 pump to make continuous extraction and solvent recycling possible. It can cost about $10,000 to get it fully automated, but works very nice in manual mode w headroom rated at 6,000 and 10,000psi. It's club owner or chronic pain suffers coming together to make such a pricey investment. It would however, pay for itself and show revenue shortly there after.

Ok, I will take your challenge. Email me your phone number to [email protected] . We can talk and arrange a setting.

If you are serious I will arrange a competition within 4 months. I will even fly to California to make it easier on you, We can photo/videographically document everything that transpires.

I will make extracts using pure CO2, and even extracts at some mixture with a cosolvent you choose. You dont even have to tell me what solvents you want to add, surprise me.

Whatever you email me and I you, minus any identifying information, will be posted on the forums as well.

This is a serious offer, I am calling your bluff on the challenge.

With the co2 oil is there no need to really purge it

I've only seen it like goop in syringes and I'm used to bho where your looking for a nice solid crumble or honeycomb it's always just a turn off when I see it more like a liquid

My question is for co2 does it not really matter?
I can fully see where you are coming from and I believe I understand why. In my case, it is the exact opposite. It is somewhat of a turnoff to me to see it as a dried out solid for a couple of reasons.

First: medicinal quality. Obviously some of the medicinal qualities are gone when dried to a shatter. Where did they go? Well they evaporated off into the air, the turpines, and who knows what else. I guess when it comes to purchasing the oil I would rather it be a solid, then I would be more confident that it is most likely not carrying mass amounts of solvent. What has made me come to this is my concentrate experience started with RSO. When I am done purging mine and it is in a syringe, I am 99% confident there is no iso left whatsoever. If there were any, it sure seems like I would taste it in my glass Eclipse vape. Just the smallest fume of iso in my glass vape after cleaning will instantly gag me.

Second: I am in to vaporizing. I have noticed it being a lot easier, more convenient, whipping up some e-cannabis when the concentrate is in syringes. Also, when I vape the oil straight, the oil being in a syringe, you cannot beat the convenience of refilling. It melts down into the vape a lot easier and you can add more concentrate. For my vaporizing, to convert solid concentrates into e-cannabis, I have to get it to a gooey state like RSO anyway. I just add a bit of grain alcohol to get the concentrate to a gooey state before adding the PG USP.

I am not sure if there is actual facts and truth behind my opinion. It sure would be nice to be able to have test comparisons to know for sure. Well, at least it would be nice for me to be able to do that. I can't get concentrates tested here in Michigan anymore. That really sucks too because I have been at the point for a good year now to have comparisons done to see which method is better than the other. Using other methods like a nail, I could see why a solid would be preferred.

We'll thanks for all that's that's a side that I didn't really think of personally I don't use cape pens but when I did by one......omg crumble and shatter was a bitch to get in the thing so u can see where the syringes or slight liquid would be easier. That's sucks that you can't get it tested in Michigan could you have it sent too friend in Cali and they could send it to get tested or just too much of a hassle?

Too much of a risk really. Besides, I don't know anyone in Cali anyway.

Just waiting on our state government to vote on some bills. Eventually, we should be able to have our stuff tested here in the near future.

Mr.Graywolf, did you not show residues from CO2 that you had Eden extract? Did I mistake that, make that up, or did something like that happen? What makes people w no experience experts is hilarious. Yes co2 needs purging. Unless you want carbonated dab, which isn't harmful, just cut w CO2 gas is all. Residues from ethanol is better as long as they are <15%. At that point co2 is lost through heat and vacuum by this point.
