Newbie here, 3rd growing, first from a seed, 2nd was a clone from the first, now my third (again a clone). My SLH was doing fine, about week 8/9 the crystals growth seemed to slow. The buds continued to grow but that was it. They are big and fat and appear to have gone to seed but there isn't any seed, and the plants are loosing their stickiness. You squeeze them the smell of THC has dropped, in fact it smells like chlorophyll (I think). The trichomes look great but they stayed clear, never clouded, I just don't know what to do any suggestions? I really hate to loose this 'crop' after all this time on such a great strain. I've included a pic of one, of the many buds. Can anyone please help, any help or suggestions.IMG_0436.JPG IMG_0436.JPG

Lots of "foxtails" which are present in one of a few scenarios...
1-plant maturity. Your plant was mature weeks ago and thats its way of telling you.
2-environment/temp issues. Possible it got too hot in your grow room and the foxtails are a result of this.
3-Strain. Sometimes a strain just carries genetics that make it foxtail no matter what.
In your case with the upward canoeing of the leaves, I'd suspect temps/humidity issues to be the culprit.
Seeing as how you are at week 14 on a 10 wk strain, your not likely going to get much more out of her.
Harvest and enjoy!

IMG_0437.JPG I appreciate the input, that's the first time I've heard the term "foxtail". There was one time a few weeks back that I was down w the flu and the plant grew up into the hoods and it must have IMG_0441.JPG IMG_0441.JPG IMG_0441.JPG overheated at that time, and truthfully it really irritates me because my first Super Lemon Haze really provided some great pot. A couple of things, should I harvest it right away or should I take the time to flush it? Also do you think I'll get much if anything off the plant?

This is the closest I could get.

Chop her. She's prob ready, Unless you're producing commercially think outside of the "yield" mindset. Plus it's impossible to answer that question.

Oooh, chopping now means not flushed, but chopping later will result in way less THC.
I would at least flush once and let them dry.

But yeah they probably suffered a bit with temps and did not show how ready she was when she was.

When I made the comment " do you think I'll get much if anything off the plant? " I should have worded it better. I was referring to quality as opposed to quantity. And I am reaching out to those more experienced. As a refresher this was from Super Lemon Haze, any thoughts on putting it to use? Just use it for smoking, go ahead and convert it to all butter, just trying to figure out what way would be to get the best use out of what I have.
I want to say thanks to all that have taken the time to contribute the information they have.

FANTASTIC LOOKING!

There is nothing wrong with your plant.
The "foxtails" are from maturity!

I would harvest NOW!

PROPER DRY AND CURE!

Many sativa's don't "amber" much and some don't really at all for what many look for to be "amber".

I see enough in your pics to say, with out a doubt, HARVEST!

You should loose nothing off the plant....but trim..

Tip: Finish the last few weeks of a sativa that runs long with a MH bulb....you'll get a more "readable" finish (in my book).

Nicely done, healthy plants and you ran them long too!

Sure would like to cure that for 8 weeks and burn some!

There-in lay my problem, I was looking for some amber because I really couldn't tell if the trichomes were clouding. Some 'guidelines' are vague, I've heard anywhere from 8 - 12 weeks, from here on (I have a clone I've started) I'll give it 10 weeks and then flush. Which BTW I've started flushing my 'foxtail' so I can start to cure it.
Does anyone know, I've never dealt with a 'foxtail' before did I by-chance screw-up the plant?

The plant and the buds both are great. Foxtails arent necessarily a bad thing, just indications of certain things including genetics. You didnt screw anything up. In fact, you did rather well for a first grow. Be proud of yourself that you made it to the end of flower and will have a nice smoke to tide you over til your next harvest.

I'd run it at least 10.
Flushing is a myth! NO need to "flush" for taste or burn...

Sometimes in late flowering you can get a potassium deficiency which will make your plant just halt growth. usually towards end of flowering. Almost like a hidden deficiency. Letting it go longer wont help the issue.

Ummm... Your a myth. I have not flushed my crop before and I have flushed it for 10-14 days and have also flushed for 3 weeks. Not a myth. Maybe if your 100% organic you done have to flush, but if you use nutes that are synthetic I would always recommend a flush. What proof do you have that flushing does not need to be done?
